[Solved] Unable to mount PC0 for transferring files

Hi,

I recently installed a 4GB CF card as HDD inside my Amiga. Since my original WBHD disk failed to load because of errors, I now need to copy HDToolBox from my Mac via a disk that's formatted as PC.

I have WB and WB Extras disks, and I was surprised not to find there's no Devs: Dosdrivers/PC0 entry on either one of them. I was able to find the L:CrossDosFileSystem on the extras disk though, which I then copied onto the WB disk.

I then tried to write up an configuration for PC0 on Amiga with ED .. I copied it word to word from my backup files on Mac, I can now execute command "mount devs:dosdrivers/pc0" with no errors, but the PC0 fails to work and no errors is shown.

Does ED add some invisible characters that make the conf file fail? Or should I put in some end-of-the-line characters there to make it understand there's a line break? Can't understand what's going on here.

Did you also look in sys:storage/dosdrivers for the PC0 mountfile?

IIRC Storage is one of the WB disks - and I only have WB boot and Extras disk available left

It would be easier to connect the CF card to another computer and set it up in UAE (or at least copy the necessary files over). I'd be happy to help with that if necessary, I'm in Helsinki also.

Workbench 3.1 ..

I'd get this whole thing up and running if I just could figure out why writing a config file with ED doesn't function .. I remember writing these with CygnusEd all the time back in 90's.
