Please vote in our community poll.
"Due to the number of requests, we are thinking of separating the game disk images from the scans. In practice, this will mean a lot more disk images in the short term, and roughly the same amount of scan packages (a few per week statistically) as it is now. The disadvantage is that scans will be delivered separately, and thus people who have not contributed directly (and own the games of course), may find that sources that you may have obtaining CAPS releases may not carry the scans themselves.
We have weighed up a detailed list of pro's and con's, but rather than sway people either way, we would like to get some independent community opinion. " So please take the time to vote and tell us what you think! Please vote here: http://www.caps-project.org Last edited by fiath; 08 June 2003 at 01:21. |

The results to the poll are now on the site, along with our decision and the reasons behind it.

Interesting that you missed out THE best reason on your website for going with splitting the IPF's from the packaging - dial-up modems/slow internet connections!
For me it would take all night to download a few 30Mb games but if it's just the IPF's then it's not such a problem... |

Legalities aside...
...some people download absolutely horrendous laserdisc and hdd arcade games that are in the GB (!) sizes just to find out how crap they are. Many of them are on dialup. It surely shouldn't bother anyone to download a 10mb file (on average) to download a normally superior game with its original packaging It's a real problem of course if you are on ppm for .net and local calls, like I used to have |
