Another Ebay muppet that needs our attention..

There is someone even worse than that WHDLoad guy.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Amiga-A1200-4-...item19c1fa44d6

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Amiga-A1200-4-...item20b5edd26c

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Amiga-A1200-4-...item4155a34920

Feel free to get reporting chaps, he's claiming the hard drives are advertised as blank, but obviously thats not entirely accurate.

We need a fake account that you could just buy now on these items and never pay the person. The listing disappears, he'd have to apply for a refund of the fees and you could in theory give him a negative rating!

I assume you mean this item?

Advertised as blank...

Perhaps we should faq his wonderful advice and all update our cards which obviously don't work?

Full Compatabilty Check list at the bottom of the page " Now advertised as blank"
Sandisk is a much faster card with a larger formatted compacity.

Please note Sandisk are the most reliable card. I have use them for over 3 years never had one returned, these are not cheap cards & retail at £15 just for the cf card. Sandisk are the inventors of the CF memory card & are the world leaders in this field, don`t require any special formatting & boot directly into the Operating system. Top quality parts used. the latest CF adaptor VH.0

Wow that is a blatent case of mis-selling/false advertising, I wonder if the laws to false advertising apply in this case? Surely they must?

Wait, does that mean I have to buy a SanDisk card now to play AGA & CD32 games? I think that worked just fine without one yesterday...

You're all wrong. AGA games simply cannot play without being on a sandisk card - can't you read what the seller said? And it's on the internet, so it must be true.

He could have made it truer by adding, "Fact."

Yep you're right mate, I'm going to throw all my Transcend, Kingston and Verbatim CF's in the bin as soon as I get home and replace them all with Ian's super setups, if what he says is true, thats a bargain at £40

"Only a special SANDISK card"
Yup, that's why all my other shit works too. I'm throwing it to the bin as well. Heck, I'll throw the Amiga too, only a special A1200 version will let me enjoy AGA & CD32 games and is becoming harder to fin.

Yep - who needs a real Amiga anyway may as well buy a £6.99 DVD with all the ADF's and Kickstarts off ebay

On a serious note, I'm always happy to help people who cannot setup their own CF's/2.5in HDD's, my help is FOC as long as you provide the Workbench Disk for activation and pay postage.

Or use Amigakits service and support your Amiga reseller instead of lining these ebay fools pockets...

BTW I've been meaning to write a fully detailed step by step guide with pics on setting these up, I'll get onto that ASAP.

Steve.

I feel a little foolish as I bought two plain ide-cf adaptors off this guy on a whim. Didnt bother looking at anything else and only just looked at this thread

But selling cf cards full of stuff is a bit cheeky! Ebay seems to be rife with this sorta thing... Sure ive seen whdload on the bay before and those cd32 compilations with no link to the author anywhere.

I sometimes wish ebay didnt exist and we could go back to a golden time when a trip to the local booty would yeild some amiga hardware that didnt cost the earth, since ebay came along the prices are just stupid now.

Steve.
That sounds like a great plan Steve you could even include installing Classic Workbench, for the perfect set-up which would help a lot of newcomers.

This is the same clown that sold me a 2.5" drive (yeah full of games, I'll admit it, I just wanted something very quick to chuck in a 600). When it arrived it was invalid, and WB could not validate it because it has a hard fault (after some time of attempted validation, the drive starts physically clicking). I of course got a load of BS about it being 100% definitely OK upon posting (oh yeah so Royal mail managed to invalidate it as well!?). So you takes your chances with this bloke anyway. But I suppose I got what I deserved.....

And yet his profile boasts of "100% Positive feedback". Didn't you post a negative comment following that cheap trick-selling, Tin?
