Can a Commodore mouse work as an Amiga mouse?

What the title says. I am wondering if a Commodore proportional mouse can work as an Amiga mouse, or what may be the difference in case it could be modified to work.

Any help apreciated!

1350 and 1351, I know the 1350 wouldnt work but the 1351, I have never tried.

I think the actual circuitry would be different and not just the pinout.

I know they look identical, but arent.

Avoid. You can burn the port.

I don't exactly want one of those, I am looking at a Suncom Icontroller. I know there was an Amiga version but I can't find one. I found a C128 one on Amibay but am not sure if it works in Joystick mode or Mouse mode. I hope it works on Joystick mode (then I can use a joy to mouse tool).

Burn the port? That's a bit EXTREME to say the least. any proof to back your claim?

Don't think it'll burn out anything, but it won't work either.

As you can see, the 1351 is connected to the analogue pins.

But all in all, get a real Amiga mouse. There is no shortage of those in the world, rather I'd say the 1351 is more rare. :-)

The Suncom icontroller is a joystick as far as I remember.

If it's a 1351 mouse, then it has two modes - proportional and joystick. You select the latter by holding down the right mouse button while powering up. I'm pretty sure I did try that on my Amiga 500 a good many years ago.
