ussload 2.1

USSLoad v2.1. Forgotten update that was done over 6 months ago..

https://download.abime.net/winuae/files/b/ussload.zip (Aminet upload later)

v2.1:

- Accept CD32 state files. Akiko and CD audio playback state is restored.
- Accept CDTV state files. DMAC and 6525 state is restored but CD drive internal state is not (yet?) restored.
- If running on CD32/CDTV and loading non-CD32/CDTV statefile: automatically disable all CD related interrupts to prevent possible hang (stuck CD interrupt) when restored program starts.
- ACA1221LC Map ROM support added.
- If <rom name>.a1200 can't be found, try also <rom name>.a500. Workaround for statefiles with mismatched hardware settings.

i'm trying this great tool atm, thanks to the hint of @DamienD in another thread
hope it will improved in future, expecially for the amount of RAM required to reload the .uss state
i am testing a single game for now, Uridium 2 both with 1.5MB and 2MB chip RAM.
i don't know if i'm doing something wrong, but seems that in both cases, you need more than 512KB as added RAM to reload the state.
i succeded in both cases with 2.5MB and 3MB chip that is a bit too much lol

wondering if it is due to the game in specific, i'll test on others titles too

also, it would be awesome have on a single 880KB .adf disk the loader + the compressed state

Problem most likely is using 1M chip instead of 0.5M+0.5M. (Whole 1M chip RAM data in compressed format must fit outside of first 1M because partial decompression is not possible)

Attach the output of ussload in debug mode to confirm it. (ussload >path/to/file.txt debug test <other params>)

It is difficult to improve it without modifying decompressor to support partial decompression (can inflate support it? Copy only first x bytes of compressed data somewhere and then decompress it. Store current decompressor state. Do other stuff. Restore decompressor state, decompress next y bytes of data. Repeat if needed.)

thank you for the explain
my original purpose was to test some full preloaded games in an old emulator (non pc) that emulate a 2MB chip Amiga :

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=104972

all was ok with action replay until 1MB, no extra memory needed to reload the freezed state
basically, i'm stuck the same because i can't reload something bigger than 1MB also with this one lol

Thanks!

This tool is getting better and better.
Is it now possible with the workaround for mismached hardware settings
to load savefiles where emulated cpu doesn't have to match real cpu?

You are not supposed to use this in emulation because UAE can directly load UAE statefiles
