Turrican 2 - Stuck
Kind of ashamed to have to ask this but I've never played this game before and it's doing my head in so...
How the hell do you get past the wind at the end of the very first stage of the game? I've seemingly tried everything but I just can't get any further... : |

You don't, head back and jump down the waterfall.

Doh! No wonder I was getting nowhere fast.
Thanks for the quick reply - I can get back to it now |

There is an arrow above the waterfall that shows you the correct way.

Thanks - reached the boss, then died and lost all my lives
Could someone possibly explain how these new save states work? I had assumed that I would be able to start again from where I had died, or at least nearby but instead when I started the game again my save slot was empty? Is there something specific I have to do to 'save' my game in the slot? (I'm playing the WHDLoad version on an A1200). |

It is intended for people who do not have time to play through the entire game in one go, not as a cheat mode that gives you infinite retries. Perhaps I should have named it differently to make it clearer. It sounds like you want to play with Easy or Trainer mode if you can't get past the first level. |

Turrican is pretty difficult. The thing that is most gruelling is that you tend to take damage not based on the type of attack but how long you overlap it. Enemies that can jump on to you can wipe you out in a moment. Be ready to jump away at any moment

I can forgive that, it isn't quite a single hit death game (although often it acts like one anyway). But why the sound effect man. Why that sound.

Haha yeah that's exactly the issue I have - contact damage, well that and the fact that my reflexes (and patience!) obviously aren't what they used to be

Its definitely tough. I beat it twice about 5 years ago and both times I was down to my last life
But I had to get really in the groove since I have pretty bad reflexes. |
