AHX-pro needed for arranging soundeffects
Hi guys!
I´m currently developing a new AGA-shoot´em-up called RESHOOT and need some help. The game is aurally driven by a soundtrack using the wonderful AHX-player. Now I´d like to include some soundeffects, also using AHX. Anyone around who is willing and able to arrange a couple of soundeffects, like shot, hit, explosion? And possibly add them to my existing AHX-music so that I can easily bang these soundeffects from within my gamecode? |

I know a few things about AHX. One thing is it's not possible to allocate less than four voices. I also don't know how to trigger instruments externally.

Maybe you should consider Protracker, converting to PT shouldn't be too hard, you can use the AHX waves as sample source. WOn't be easy, but it'll give you more flexibility.

HVL2WAV converts whole AHX or HVL modules to samples....

You don't need to convert to WAV (a waste), the ahx.waves file generated by the tracker contains all the software waveforms in raw format.

See, I use AHX for several reasons. One of them being the ability to play sound-fx and music simultanously easily. The player is already implemented into RESHOOT code and is working really well. I just need help due to my total inability to develop sound-fx with the AHX-Tracker.
I would provide a finished AHX-module and ask whoever wants to contribute, to add some instruments aka sound-fx to the existing 20 or so instruments in the module. I can then trigger those instruments from within the gamecode while the music is playing. Already works great with all 20 instruments, it´s just that they are custom made for the music and don´t exactly sound like explosions etc. Samurai Crow, would that be okay for you? |

Sounds good to me. I can send you a demo track with some custom made instruments once I get home.

Posted as Zip. The MoogLike bass and synthetic horn lead are mine as are the open and closed hi-hat. I'd imagine changing the waveform of the MoogLike bass to white noise would make a nice throaty deep explosion sound.
