What to do with all my old disks...

I have approx 40 or so boxed amiga games and 5 disk boxes crammed full of "disks" - there's about 500 or so "blank disks".

What should I do with em. Do they fetch much on ebay? Should I sell individually, or as one joblot?

For the boxed games, check if they are already preserved : http://www.softpres.org/games
If they aren't listed it would be great if you could preserve them first before selling them. Afterwards you should check which games sell quite well (or have a 'rare' tag on HOL...). Sell those individually and the rest as a pack. Also sell the 500 blanks as a seperate pack. You could offer them here first : http://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Hmmm... I just had a quick look, I seem to have 1 or 2 things that aren't listed (provided I'm doing it right).

I have Photon Paint 2.0 and it doesn't appear to be listed. Is that something that will want preserving, or am I doing it wrong?

Chuck them on ebay as a job lot. I Sold 29 boxed amiga games in various conditions for £80 as a job lot.

SPS only lists games for now, but I'm sure they are interested in apps aswell. Make a new thread about that here (http://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=45) and wait for an answer.

Hi dude,

if you have amiga demos please let us know as these would deserve to be preserved too. I can help with that.

Sounds like the right thing to do, and if you happen to have a boxed Dragon Wars, please let me know

Do you have any shareware or PD games - maybe even some full registered versions??
We would love to have them!

I remember being a fan of PD. I may have some pieces. If I can get some together, I'll happily share the wealth, no probs.

I've got some shareware games, I always thought they were on aminet so I never bothered too much with them?

Battlecars and Conquest are the only two I recall off the top of my head, because I played them a lot!

A fair few shareware and PD games are still available via Aminet and various other Amiga web sites but there was a vast amount of these types of games released and some games have just disappeared over the years as people have sold their Amiga.

Especially rare are the full versions of games - (some games were only demo's and the authors requested a small fee for the complete game)

That is why I am especially grateful if members can check their old floppy disk boxes as you never know what games could have been hidden away!

We have been lucky and found a few gems over time.

Battle Cars and Conquest do seem to be available on-line - I saw both games for download on the Games Coffer's website... but as I say you never know what else members may still have in a box of old floppies....

I won't be able to look until Saturday. However if I do have anything useful to you guys, it may well be a case of passing them over to one of you guys to do the salvaging as I don't have easy access to an Amiga to do it.

Hi JonSick,

I would happily convert any disks you have to images for uploading if you would like to lend them to me.

If you're in the SE London area I could even pick them up and return them to you.
