Commodore.com Website, Did they have one before they went under?
Hi
I see posts in Amiga newsgroups by the Amiga division of Commodore and they have email addresses at commodore.com. I was wondering what the Commodore.com website looked like. Commodore.com collapsed before web.archive.org started archiving websites. Thanks |

As far as I know, Commodore never had a website. The web only barely existed at that point, but domain names - and email and other kinds of fileservers - had been around for a while. That’s what Commodore.com was.

http://www.kappamaki.com/grr/avi.html some background info on the beginnings of internet connectivity at Commodore. Before that it was UUCP.

Thanks guys, I guess the commodore.com would have been running on that CBMVAX I read in the old signature strings, would have been nice if it was running on the A3000UX. But I agree with you guys I'm assuming it would have just been a Mail and FTP server running on it.

If you really want to know, I've tweeted to ex-Commodore guys in the past and they've been very friendly. eg. @brycenesbitt
