Visualprefs on OS 3.9 -12040
Hello
I installed Fullpalette and Visualpreffs on my OS 3.9 When I download and apply theme for Visualpreffs, after restart I only get WorkBench Screen - Title and does not go any further? Any clues? |

I don't think your problem is fixed. It sounds like you're getting the dreaded VisualPrefs deadlock. VisualPrefs has a problem where it can cause a deadlock if it tries to update the screen at the exact same time another program is updating the screen - especially when opening a window during startup when icons are drawn/updated.
To avoid the deadlock at startup, make sure you don't have a program that opens a window - at least until after WB is completely loaded and icon refresh is done. I had to stop using a titlebar clock in WBstartup because about 10% of the time I got the deadlock. I still get the deadlock occasionally when I start a program and a requester from another program pops up at the same time, but this only happens rarely. (interestingly, MUI programs never cause a deadlock) |
