Help With kwizoke machine ( amiga 1200)
hey guys
i have a kwizoke karaoke machine that is ran on a amiga 1200 it boots up via floppy disk and boots up using a cdrom (cd-r) it is met with a request to access a parallel security dongle (expired) i used to send my dongle away once a year to get it renewed and updated the company went bust and im left with the following 1. locked up unit that gets to the request dongle screen and locks 2 a expired dongle ( that needs reverse engineered and reactivated) 3 a cd rom containing the program ( cd image) 4 a floppy disk bootable ( floppy image file) can someone help reprogramming the cd rom image so that it no longer looks for a parallel port dongle and boots into the program can someone help maybe creating a ROM so i can run it on the windows computer. or can someone help by me sending them my dongle to reverse engineer it and make me a new dongle i dont mind paying either x thank you |

Fascinating bit of hardware... I don't think it's generally known in the community. Or, at least, I haven't heard of it before.
Can you post some photos of the machine's internals and the dongle? It sounds like the dongle is programmed to work or not work based on the current date. The question is whether the dongle reads that date from the 1200 or whether the dongle has its own built-in clock. If it reads it from the 1200, all you have to do is set the date back. If it reads it from its own clock, then some hacking will be required. The reason I asked for internal photos is because the 1200 doesn't come with a clock by default. If one's been added, it suggests re-setting the time on the 1200 will work. If one hasn't been added, it suggests the clock is on the dongle and the software will need to be hacked. |

Looks like the clock is in the dongle, then. Or the dongle uses some other protection mechanism.
At any rate, it's good you posted the disk images. I'm nowhere near talented enough to hack this, but there are a bunch of users on here who are and I'm confident they'll get you up and running before long. |
