Today I tried ScummVM on my A1200 but it seems I am having some troubles. It crashes on every Game I tried (DotT, Full Throttle, Beneath a Steel Sky) soon or later. Now any ideas?

Looks like something is invoking FPU instructions while you don’t have a FPU?! This may need a fix to how ScummVM gets compiled.

For non-fpu Amiga's then I think you need this one http://aminet.net/package/game/misc/ScummVM_AGA_030 |

That's very strange my friend, no idea why it doesn't like your setup
Make sure that you use all the files in the archive, you can't mix with other versions of Scummvm. Also make sure you update the paths in the ini file (using the launcher) to match your paths. Last edited by NovaCoder; 18 June 2022 at 02:23. |

I have a half working FPU on an 68LC060, the FPU shows up in Sysinfo but many FPU-enabled programs crash. Can I give you a dump so you can recompile your program without using the instructions that make it crash? It could be some bits of the FPU aren't working too. I think you can do it though!

It might be AHI itself. I tried all 3 versions (68k, 68020, 68060) and it seems only 68060 version works without errors. |

That window mode version of ScummVM is really nice, well done NovaCoder !
On a 720p RTG screen, the window is quite small. Would there be a way to double every pixel without much of performance loss ? Last edited by TuKo; 26 June 2022 at 15:50. |

Yes I did look at implementing a software screen doubled scaler but ran out of time, it should be possible to do though. |

@NovaCoder,
I found your new release 1.7.0.020 You wrote "Added additional engine support." Which Engines are enabled? |

Also when you enable the aspect scaling and the 2x scaler together it has to scale twice now which will slow down performance a bit (from 200 to 240 lines and then 240 to 480). |

I just gave a try to new build 1.7.0.021 and indeed it makes it quite more usable. On Vampire, it is totally usable.
Regarding the 2x mode, I guess you enabled HQ 2x or SAL 2x and not normal 2x. It looks like some filtering is made. I'm not 100% fan of them. Am I right ? |

The Aspect filter is something I wrote myself and it's very basic, the 2x filter was stolen from my old Dune 2 port....it wouldn't be that sophisticated either because it's just 8 bit data. For Window mode, I recommend just using the 2x scaler without the aspect ratio correction. Last edited by NovaCoder; 28 June 2022 at 12:12. |
