New best of AmigaPd game CD?

Hi,

Some of you will already know the website I have set up which focusses just on Amiga PD games - A new feature I ve added is a simple catalogue of each game disk I have by containing a simple screen image, description and the type of system the game worked on. From this I have started a page showing the best games from those I ve tested ( I ve only got to letter D).

http://www.amigapd.com/amigapd-recommends.html

This started me thinking about whether it would be worthwhile creating a new public domain CD containing only the best games to run on the CD32 / Amiga 1200 - I think it would probably have about 200 t0 300 disks.

Hence the poll.

The best part of setting up this website has been discovering new games which I never heard about or played when I had my original Amiga 500 in the 90s.

I would certainly be interested in a PDCD image to download.

Your website is great as many Amiga newcomers probably aren't aware of the many PD gems that are available.

Keep up the good work.

I agree - that would be a great idea and would be an ideal introduction for those not familiar with the Amiga's PD scene.

Cutesy the Bear is not bad but jumping is too fast and you have two kinds of it - with (fire + joy up) and without (joy up) bouncing of enemy. Crystal Skull need manual, I don't know what's the point of this game.

How odd. I was only thinking about this as a companion to your site the other day.

Perhaps we can rope some talented Amigan in to producing some nice CD inlay artwork, too?

Assign is a useful command might be useful for games insert volume
Edit :Assign Disk Volume name: YourPath:
Try
Assign StarWoids1: CD0:YourPath
Assign StarWoids2: CD0:YourPath

Hellzone ill have a look later but are you sure JIT is disabled under WinUae.

Hurray - now pasted the halfway mark of producing a top 100 pd cd game with 54 games now loading without problems. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far.

The speed issues mentioned on some games previously have been resolved by putting exact match A500 speed in Winuae -

I dont think ticking Match A500 is a good idea, I meant make sure its not ticked - I was only thinking of reasons Hellzone wasnt working -Did you get it working?
The games will still be to fast on real CD32

Not all WHDload install require Kickstarts you also must not include pirate WHDload as are offten included on homebrew CDs - There also not need as the Toolkit uses WHDloadCD32

Also StarWoids -Assign Libs: StarWoids1:Libs ADD

Have you tried Death Angel - http://hol.abime.net/5612

ill leave you to it - Good Luck

Thanks - no Hellzone is proving difficult. I know on one PD game it doesnt work on the CD32 and on the Assassins it does. Think it might take a bit of head scratching to get it working but I do like that game so will keep going to solve it.

Overall I am taking the easy option at the moment and just adding new games to get closer to the 100 target, most are working fine, just added Drip, Scorched Tanks, Demo of Morton Strikes Back and a Demo of MrBeanBag as I had never played that game and still don't know if it will be released or finished.

I hadn't tried death angel - I will try to add it as it looks good from the screenshots.

UPDATE - Have now got Hellzone to work using the following:

CD0:Games/HELLZONE
RunIt degrade
intro
run level1

This has also helped out with some other games aswell.

Thanks for the information on the assign function - this has worked for Starwoids, Yelp, Jumpem
