3Com PCMCIA NIC setup in OS 3.9 using Genesis

Hi guys, I wanted to post a question concerning installation of 3Com PCMCIA ethernet card on OS 3.9 BB2.
I owe an Amiga A600 with an Mtec 030@42Mhz accelerator board. I installed succesfully OS 3.9 with BB2 and when I got to configure my PCMCIA 3Com NIC using Genesis Wizard I got into several error messages.
I installed the 3c589.device (in devs/network/) and set it up on Genesis device path. After that it asked about a SANA-II particular configuration which I didn't use and then started to request for the device. IN THAT POINT it freezes my Amiga needing a soft reset to reboot. Using the cnet.device doesn't freeze but a message saying "Can't open device" appears. If I point in the SANA-II configuration the path to the 3c589.device the same message occures. Can someone please help me out here?

P.S. Using a boot disk with pre-configured amitcp stack and IP address (obtained by the guy supplied me the NIC) the PC finds the Amiga perfectly and auto-mounts a drive via FTP to the Amiga. So I believe that the NIC is not having any problem.

Well, as Genesis is only a GUI for AmiTCP, you should be able to just copy the db directory from the boot disk to Genesis/db on your HDD.

Additionally you should check the startup files of the boot disk for any necessary patches. I don't know if the A600 suffers from the same problems with the PCMCIA port as the A1200. So you might or might not need to install CardPatch and CardReset.

Problem solved!
Thanks for the reply, but my A600 DOES have the Card reset problem. Network card runs perfectly with CatdPatch.
Maybe is my revision "2D" mobo that is rare.
