Amigan Software Website

No-one seems to have done a review of the Amigan Software website yet, so here goes...

What we have here is the official site of Amigan Software, a non-profit Amiga programming organization. Latest versions of their software Worm Wars and Report+, electronic versions of several important Amiga programming books (including rare RKMs), various other goodies, floppy and hard disk versions of several Amiga games, other rare software for various retrocomputers, and an excellent and comprehensive links section.

I've got a feeling that link will be gone before long. And I reckon your message is really spam. Even if it is worthy.

Maybe it's talking about your site in the third person that annoyed me though.

The site has been online constantly for over 2 years now, with *zero* downtime. So your comment seems rather bizarre.

I also fail to see what is annoying.

I emailed the webmaster of the site and invited him to come check out EAB. I actually find it to be a very useful site, have been going there on and off for a while (and noticed that, unlike so many other sites, it's still there and updated frequently).

So if anyone, blame me. I just found the site useful and though it would be more productive if we had another member here that has a good site and seems to be motivated enough to keep his updated with loads of good resources. I think I might have said something about what a nice group everyone is here, too...

I think there's nothing wrong with what Minuous has done. I've seen (on many different forums) people advertising their website. There's nothing wrong with that.

I too have visited this site numerous times before (cause of Worm Wars ), and I just went back there after seeing the URL listed above and I think it's great. The links section is huge. It's definately a valuable resource

Minuous and Twistin. You guys have done nothing wrong.
Birdy. Don't be so touchy about it.

Thanks. It's nice to know that the site and programs are appreciated, it does motivate me to continue it further. :-D Which is good for all of us.

I wonder if anyone uses the Worm Wars fieldset editor to make their own fieldsets, or do they just play it using the 50 fields that come with the game? If anyone has made some of their own fieldsets, feel free to contribute them, so others can enjoy them.

And of course any suggestions etc. on how to improve Worm Wars or Report+, or the site itself, are welcomed.

I haven't mucked around with Worm Wars for years now, but I did notice there's a PC version, so I might try it out when I have time

The Windows version is not quite as good, the latest version is 6.7a, which means you miss out on the 6.7b, 6.8 and 6.81 improvements. Which are, off the top of my head, a new creature species, miscellaneous bugfixes, and some other minor things. And it doesn't have the fieldset editor either. It's still a good game, just not quite *as* good. The Windows version generally is a version or two behind the Amiga version.

Oh well. It's just that my Amiga isn't exactly operational right now, and I refuse to emulate, so I have to use the PC version.

I guess it'll do....For now

Don't you remember the goal of this section guys ?

Quote:
Post your feedback about amiga's websites of the web,
good ideas and improvements for them will be cool.
Here I only see a stupid war about a website who is not the focus of this thread.
The "Amigan Software Website" is the main goal of this topic, so please only post feedback & improvement about this website...

- If you need to start a review of the Birdy's website, start another thread.
- If you need to fight each other about stupidities, please do it by Private Message.

[ back to topic ]

You have a nice website, the huge collection of Amiga scene related links is great.

about improvements, you may stucture more your sections ?
(one menu to access the different links areas would be cool)

ho, and yes, too much icons "made with Amiga" IMO
