thx! i changed music plugin to DAMusic_DoomSndLibrary.plugin and now also plutonia revisited works!

as a result there's no need for the question any more whether using DoomSndLibrary or MIDI plugin!
as midi plugin doesn't work with plutonia revisited, DoomSndLibrary is the one i use for playing doom!

music works well with pl2 (plutonia megawad), also with original doom ultimate, doom 2, tnt and plutonia.

for prcp only midi doesn't work at all. DoomSndLibrary sometimes makes weird noise, then restart needed.
but DAMusic_P61A.plugin works well with prcp, no noise so far! so for prcp i'll use DAMusic_P61A plugin.

now i have many levels to play! doomu, doom 2, tnt: evilution, plutonia, p2 megawad, plutonia revisited!

i set up everything for doomattack, so i haven't tested adoom with all official and usermade wad files yet.

another question: does DoomAttack have an option to display if any secret is found?
no problem, if there's no such feature available. not really needed, just nice to have.

I can't tell you, if you're interested I'll attach some PNG icons created by me for the various episodes of Doom

I didn't delete transparent because it wasn't beautiful in detail, if you know how to use a graphics program you can delete the background.
To load the icon on a graphics editor just rename .INFO to .PNG.
Made the change to rename .info and returns to be an icon but with a single face

but before tampering with graphics programs i'd rather go for white background in drawers.

yay!
first game completed! ultimate doom finished! all four episodes, 100% secrets (including secret maps)!
all done on amigaos using doomattack! now i continue this 100% playthrough in doom 2: hell on earth!

there was only one minor issue:
in later episodes (2/3/4) switches/buttons don't have any sound anymore. and they don't light up.
so it's hard to tell whether a switch is activated or not. let's see, if doom 2 has that same issue...

Just dropping this here as a showcase of how gorgeous Doom4Vanilla looks! Using DoomAttack of course.

Forgive the bad video quality and shaky gameplay. It was a combination of trying to play just with the mouse, while recording with the other on my chinese phone.

So, here:

is doom4vanilla just new weapons/textures or are there also whole new levels to explore?
if the latter: how do i install and run doom4vanilla with doomattack?

btw. doom 2 (main game) finished!
this time there were no button/swich sounds missing like they were in ultimate doom.

After a Doom4Vanill test, it works well with DoomAttack, it does not work well with ADoom. The graphics in Doom4Vanilla are poorer than the standard Doom2, in window mode the graphics are better.

@AMIGASYSTEM
I'm not sure how they can be considered poorer, but it's a matter of personal taste so, ok.

@honx
you download doom4vanilla and then you place the d4v in the doomattack dir. Launch it from shell with:

doomattack -file doom2.wad d4v.wad

The change is only in gfx (weapons, enemies, textures), but you're always free to try the various custom levels on the internet for an extended doom experience

can anyone please play through tnt:evilution level 11 (storage facility) in doomattack and check the end level message?
i got the wrong one, i got one message from original doom 2. correct end level message after level 11 should be this one:
Quote:
You hear the grinding of heavy machinery ahead. You sure hope they're not stamping out new hellspawn but you're ready to ream out a whole herd if you have to. They might be planning a blood feast but you feel about as mean as two thousand maniacs packed into one mad killer.

You don't plan to go down easy.

I do not know exactly what it means "poorer" this term was given to me by the translator, I wanted to say that the graphics are a little grainy compared to the original one of Doom2

secret message of tnt level 15 (dead zone) is also wrong, also in this case i get displayed the one from doom 2 main game. the real secret message from tnt:evilution should be this:

same issue with super secret exit in level 31 (pharaoh). original doom 2 super secret exit message is displayed, not the one supposed to:

As you step off the transport, you hear the stomp of a cyberdemon's iron shoe.
