AmigaDOS scripts
Hi
Does anybody know how to insert a command into a script that tells the Amiga that a key has been pressed - or, put it another way, how to make programs like DMS run without stopping and waiting for the Enter key to be pressed. I want to write a large script to test DMS files from a CD ROM. I want to decompress the image to a real floppy, copy the floppy to another (to test for disk errors) and then re-compress the image using a better compression (Heavy 2). I want to simpy execute the script and then go off to work whilst my Miggy gets on with it. At the moment, I have to keep pressing the Enter key and so I have to be next to the puter all the time. Bound to be a way to do it....... |

you can use input redirection like
echo "" >file.enter dms xxxxxxxxx... <file.enter but I would recommend to use XAD or other tools to decompress the dms file, dms was buggy all the times... |

Cheers! That sounds useful, even tho I've ever done that on my PC to send output to the printer or file - never thought I could input with it too!
Not familiar with XAD, and I know DMS is buggy, found out to my cost on more than one occasion! Can I get XAD from Aminet I wonder... Will search. Cheers again, Danke |
