Qwak [lemon] [hol]
Created by game designer Jamie Woodhouse, who also gave us Nitro and All Terrain Racing. Qwak was released for Amiga in 1993 by Team 17, and is an updated version of the original BBC Micro and Acorn Electron game from 1989. There's a whole load of cute egg related violence.

Round Ends: 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 12th June 2021

Rules:

Get the best score you can, during this round.
Post screenshots of your score in this thread, and write the score nearby.
Scores to be achieved without save-states, trainers, passwords, and cheats.
No continues or infinite score leeching.
Finish the game and post a screenshot of the end for the completion star.

Special Scoring and Rules:

Play through the game once. Stop playing after level 80.
There are 80 levels to complete. After that the game loops.
For the completion star post a screenshot of the score after level 80. The score screen between levels. It must say 'Scene: 81'. You can pause this screen with 'P' and resume with 'Spacebar'.

I almost forgot.

Quick note to point out a known game breaking bug. There is a gem points bonus that doubles every time you get it until you lose a life. When you die it resets to the starting number of points. If you get a bonus of 160 million points it will crash the game. The solution is simple. If you successfully get the 80 million points bonus, make sure you lose a life before getting another bonus.

Had a late night session. Turned out good. Lots of gems. Until some real nasty flying keys and spike rain.

Hey acid. It's a great game for a quick play. And when it comes to scoring big there's an emphasis on making the first life count, so it gets much tenser than a lot of games.

First and probably only attempt. I played this a lot back in the day, but I think I got further than I ever managed back then. I made it to the space levels, which I don't remember ever seeing before. Would love to try and get a bit further at some point. I have a real soft spot for this game, it's lovely!

What do you think about this game?
I had only a few memories about this game but now I literally in love with it ? The game is so challenging, and you need practice to have great control with jumps, how defeat and avoid enemies etc...
If you want set highscore, it's crucial to not lose a life in the first 30/40 levels, so you can increase the multiplier and gain a lot of points, thx gems-bonus
Peace-bonus isn't simple to gain it but you need it cause without eggs in the advanced levels, it's quite impossibile to continue
