Yesterday night I played a whole Easy Championship with "in game music" enabled and I didn't have any issues. I didn't find the music very catchy, though... I mean, it is nice but, except for one or maybe two tracks, in my opinion it doesn't suit the game very well.
Overall a great job, I look forward to play Medium and Hard Championship as soon as I have some spare time.

The tunes take some time to get used to, I must admit but they're good. They'll grow on you or ... just put the engine noise instead

New release in a few. Just adjusting some stuff like water patterns and pink car color. Also working on a non whdload version.

Tunes were made for a different project that i tried to pitch to devs that was more on a cyberpunk/darkwave vibe, but since were sitting idle for like three years i decided this was a good place where to use them.

small update 0.82 in the zone. Static screens look better (truecolor palette used), changed some colors in cars & water.

Quick question, which has always bugged me: when the race starts and the horns sounds 3 blasts, why is the third one an explosion sound effect, rather than what you would expect such as a higher note of the original blast?

Could be a car backfiring I guess?

I understand that and you certainly did a great job, mate, but I didn't find them "engaging enough" for such a game. That's just my opinion, obviously, and as jotd said I can play without music or I will get used to them eventually but, maybe, it would have been better if the tunes could have been played "a bit faster". I am not a musician and I know very little about music but what I'm trying to say is that if it would be possible to increase at least the rhythm some way I think they should fit the game better. As an example, consider the original soundtrack, when a race finishes and you enter the shop the music is very captivating and gives you the adrenaline for the next race.

Well, it was for an idea that was trying to pitch with no success to use fedepede04 revamped outrun engine to make a game on this style... (with more variations and an option for an happy ending of course)

Yes, that's something I also always wondered, then forgot I suppose that's like a race pistol shot. That could be easily changed by playing the horn sound at a higher rate.

thanks for the video! have you noticed that the Supercars II title is now true color with a gradient? that's subtle but quite a lot of work.

Now images can use real AGA palette (but 256 colors max, of course) allowing gradients if not a lot of other colors in the image.

I haven't checked it out yet so no idea what the new music tracks are like.

Superb! Tested on my A1200 with Blizzard1239 mkIV.
Plays great, no crashes. Text on the questions cutscenes flickers and hard to see which option is selected.
Anyone else notice the race position in game sometimes did not match the post race table. Was certain I finished second in last easy race, only to be placed last??

done that in my SC3 remake. Actually good idea got to check the number of tracks used by the in-game tracks of Lotus 3. Using a module that uses 4 channels would sound weird because of sound effects interrupting all the time, but that could work.



You can test yourself by replacing the files "file00...file05" by other modules, as long as filesize doesn't exceed the biggest module of the list.

Never heard of that. Unless you're second, but you explode with max damage => last. I've played a lot the original version and quite a bit that version to test and never noticed that. Can you confirm?
