MAMEUI help anyone?

Hi all, this is an odd question on an Amiga forum, but in the latest MAMEUI I have (129.6.0) I am totally unable to get the Cheat file to read. When opening a game I do not even get the option to activate/deativate cheats. I have MAME 0.123 on another computer running through DOS and the cheats are working fine there. Can the Configuration setting sbe changed to recognise the cheat.dat file or is this a known problem? Please point me in the right direction if this is answered elsewhere. Cheers!

I had the same problem some time ago.
The answer is that the cheat engine was rewritten recently and now uses individual xml files.
You can grab a new version and have an explanation here.

However, I advise, if you still have, to keep an old MAME version around (with cheat.dat) because sometimes the MAME team seems to like to make changes that break (temporarily) the cheats (see page 4 of the link).

And btw, read the instructions, you don't need to extract the xml files from the cheat.zip archive (happened to a lot of people so I prefer warning you just in case). All you have to do is extract cheat.zip from the archive you download.

You are a God among men, thank you so much. My own fault for not reading the update notes when I download the newest version (naughty boy!!) Thanks again!
