RTG Graphics Card what is it for? (Monitor option)
I have to be honest
I have never used this option, But what is the purpose of this function. It is possible to have an explanation in practice, With an example of its use. Thank you. |

Under UAE its to emulate a graphics card like a picasso so you can run workbench and other system friendly programs at a higher resolution then the native chipset. So for example you could have a 1280x1024 desktop in true colour.

@sneeker
Thanks for the reply, but i don't understand the concept. there are cascading menus with numbers ranging from 1 to 4 for example one for each selectable video card but in practice it would be the video inputs of a selected video card? Thanks, but I'm not really understanding its use. That's why I asked for an example of how to use them |

I assume that's for multiple cards, for example on my old A4kt setup I ran a Picasso IV and CVision PPC with a dual boot setup.

@fitzsteve
this is interesting but in this case it would always be tied to the selected "startup-sequence" I guess. in practice you can have the same OS and decide whether to start them with a card or another depending on your needs. Properly configured. But always independently (I guess) I hope I understand the concept I apologize for the complex and detailed question, but I wanted to understand the concept well. In practice it ultimately depends on the "startup-sequence" if written well is configured for the same OS (only the preconfigured video card changes). But clearly the use remains exclusive to a single video card at a time. Should it be so if I understand correctly? |

It enables for example custom screen and RTG screen visible at the same time (2 windows). Monitor 0 is always shared with custom screen. If RTG is configured to monitor 1, it opens separate window. (=emulates hardware configuration where you have 2 monitors, one connected to Amiga video port, another to RTG board).
Or can have bridgeboard VGA in separate window with Amiga native or RTG (or both) screen also visible simultaneously. Note that it is not supported (at least not yet) to have multiple emulated RTG boards because PCem board emulation does not support multiple instances. |

@Toni
You anticipated me I was writing other questions. But I still don't get it. I found this video of "AMIGASYSTEM" ((( ok, probably this video is not relevant because it doesn't use the RTG Graphic Monitor 1-4 function ))) [ Show youtube player ] apart from the retro music I don't see anything special in this video it's just a hot switch of the video card from "uaegfx" to "PicassoIV" the RTG Graphic Monitor function with the drop down menus 1 to 4 and also above where you select "Monitor" 1 to 4 They don't seem to work because I can't select what I want. I have to re-read what you wrote. I can't grasp the concept. Thanks anyway for the reply Last edited by White; 30 December 2022 at 13:20. |

If someone uses this feature, he could make a video, just to understand how to use it.
For me it would be easier to understand better. Thank you. Toni, Clearly if I use as you mentioned 2 RTG cards WinUAE crashes and it's useless to post the .dump because you have already anticipated that it currently does not work. |

I made a small video showing how from an RTG Screen you can run a PAL Game or Application on separate PAL configured Monitor Test Video: https://eab.abime.net/zone/DoubleMonitor.zip --- Italiano --- Paolo quella funzione dei monitor serve per avere più monitor con settaggi diversi contemporaneamente. Ho fatto un piccolo video che mostra come da uno Schermo RTG è possibile eseguire un Gioco o una Applicazione PAL su Monitor separato configurato PAL |

@AMIGASYSTEM
Ciao Carlo, grazie per il video. L'ho guardato. Ma quello che mi interessa sono i settaggi da fare per ottenerlo. Nel video non sono presenti i settaggi. Se vuoi andrebbe bene anche solo il file di configurazione Così posso guardarlo. oppure se hai voglia anche un video. Ciao e grazie. ------------------------------------------------------ Hi Carlo, thanks for the video. I watched it. But what interests me are the settings to do to get it. There are no settings in the video. If you want, even just the configuration file would be fine So I can watch it. or if you want even a video. Hello and thanks. |

I enclose my Afa One Dual Monitor config (PAL + RTG), however then you will see that it is easier done than said
--- Italiano --- Allego il mio config Afa One Doppio Monitor (PAL + RTG), comunque poi vedrai che è più semplice a farlo che a dirlo Last edited by AMIGASYSTEM; 02 September 2023 at 00:57. |

Something I managed to do
Obviously it's just a test just to understand. Why, for example, is a part white and you can't see anything? What should I do ? (OS 4) I set (with in DEVS/Monitor/ the driver CVISION64 one part gives me CVISION 64 (but it's just to understand) is the other is white and nothing appears? Do I have to configure something? Thank you. here the configuration file but it is definitely wrong as mentioned but the boot works and is a starting point. How do I start another application on the "white" screen? Thanks for the config file, now i look at it better. It will definitely be better than what I created. So I see the differences. |

Paul the two monitors start simultaneously, maybe you don't see the second one because it is hidden behind the first one or vice versa, in this case with Alt-Tab you can put the one you want in the foreground, or the second one you keep to the side.
In any case the PAL application or game will automatically start on the PAL Monitor, you don't have to do anything. |

Thank you, so it only supports "PAL" modes because I can not see anything at the moment. But I will make several attempts. |

I did this test,
And embryonic just to understand, And based on Voodoo3 And a demo written in 68k is used And it is regularly displayed on the second "Monitor" It's not perfect but it works. I need to figure out if there is anything to configure in OS4 for sound and similar things like "dualscreen". And understand the various mechanics of operation. But you have to configure something like monitor sound etc. ? here the little test: [ Show youtube player ] |

here quake 68k on the "second monitor in 68k version (PAL)
but perhaps many of you were already aware of it. For me it's a new thing to use with OS4. (the audio is still not heard) why is there no audio? but to me who likes to experiment it is pleasant. full compatibility with 68k on the OS4 side would also be interesting. I have to try various things. the video is smooth actually only that strangely with the "voodoo3" emulation if WinUAE is restarted a few times to do tests, for example it seems to lose speed. I didn't want to redo the video and I put that one :-) [ Show youtube player ] Last edited by White; 30 December 2022 at 19:05. |

I didn't make any settings, I didn't delve into it on OS4.1, on OS3 the audio works fine.
