Vector Tutorials
Was wondering if anyone had any good vector tutorials? I'd really like to get started with this kinda code, drawing lines, shapes, filling them, playing with the zoom etc.
I'm guessing I should start with some line draw and fill experiments? |

Hey h0ff
Read my "Suggestions for learning" thread in the Coders Tutorials section. All the info on vectors, line drawing code, filling, light sourcing etc. etc. is in there - it's the thread I started when I wanted to learn exactly the same things as you do now! Drop me a mail if you want to discuss anything in more depth and I can help you out. |

There is a Vector tutorial on this page:
http://www.palbo.dk/dataskolen/maskinsprog/ Unfortunately this is the only tutorial that have not been translated from Danish to English. But maybe you can get a readable version by using Google Translate or someting like that. |

This book is a good introduction to the basics of the mathematics:

In truth, while it looks complicated at first, I found that once I got a good grasp of the mathematics and how to represent and manipulate those numbers in fixed point that the code was actually pretty easy. Trust me, if I can get the maths, anyone can. |

as I remeber all the maths is matrix based well most of it, not that I did any but once you got your head around matrices, rotation and enlargement should be a doddle

Yup, I have some pretty good notes stored away from my uni days on the maths side that where given to us, if I am passing by them I will try and dig them out and get them scanned for you.
