My vote goes to: "Osadnicy" alias "Die Siedler" alias "The Settlers"
...because... I loved the game back then, the game brought me back first into emulating then finally getting an A1200, and i'm still playing it and enjoying right in this very moment |

Nothing beats The Settlers in gaming time I've spend on a game... the next closest would probably be Dune 2 which is great too

Gunship 2000
Best 3d and gameplay combination I had seen to that date.. Hiding behind hills, and terrain that finally made sense. Bossing around your sqadron was even more fun... And the intro mod was pretty cool, setting the mood perfectly. |

but the others two that stand above the mass are for me Perihelion and Wiz&Liz. note also that this two games are really similar, in both is mentioned the use of chemicals to open perception doors or improve stats. |

Frontier Elite ][ and Settlers were the best games that year but since I played Settlers more I voted for that one. The PC version of Settlers is better with the nice SVGA resolution.

I've also gone for Cannon Fodder. A tough choice though - I nearly went for Chaos Engine, or Superfrog, or Blob, or Flashback or... (several hours later) ... or Syndicate, or Soccer Kid, or, er, that's it I think!

Man.. that's impossible.
How can I choose between Flashback, Cannon Fodder, Syndicate, The Settlers, Desert Strike, James Pond 2, Alien Breed 2, Turrican 3, Qwak, Micro Machines, Arabian Nights, Soccer Kid and Dune 2? Honestly... how do I choose? All those games gets the highest praise from me all the time... if I could only play those games for the rest of my life, I would still be a happy gamer. Those are the among the greatest showing of the art that is gaming, and no one can touch the greatness of those titles. In the end I picked Cannon Fodder, just for the sake of doing it. I always knew 1993 was the best year for gaming. THe Amiga was the pinnacle of gaming for sure... |

It's really hard to compare games from so many different categorys. Settlers is my favourite strategy game, Disposable Hero is my favourite shoot em'up...

Very difficult choice between Syndicate and Dune II, but in terms of coming back for more and hours spent, I finally chose Dune II. Proves you don't need amazing graphics to have a brilliant game.

Have to go with Syndicate on this one, although many great games were released in 1993 - probably the Amiga's finest hour before descending into obscurity.
