Floppy drive (again...)

I finally found a floppy drive that works in my a2000.
it's a mitsubishi MF355F (1.44Mo)
It works with ks1.3 and wb1.3
It works with ks3.1 and wb1.3
But, with ks 3.1 and wb3.1, even if a disk is inserted, the system says "No disk in drive".
I don't think it's a hardware failure, 'cause the drive works with wb1.3.

Does any1 know where it comes from ? And how to solve the problem ?
(it should be a system problem?)

Perhaps the Diskchange-Signal is not correct. What is happening if you execute the diskchange-command from shell? If the drive recognizes the disk, you have to swap line 2 against line 34 of the floppy cable or check for a jumper at the drive saying "rdy/dc".

I tested many drives with my A4000 but none of them worked 100% for me so I got myself a Kylwalda-Controller. After installing this together with a Teac-Floppy I encountered no problems yet.

The DC signal is correct : the drive works very well under workbench 1.3 (yes : workbench, and not kickstart - it is 3.1- )
Under workbench 3.1, the drive is found, but never detects any disk.
The diskchange command does nothing.

The jumpering of the drive is correct.

Hmm, have you checked some game, yet ? Do they work ? Especially some NDOS game disks ?
Maybe your drive has diskchange signal correct, but is missing the ready signal ?
WB 1.3 isn't dependent on the ready signal, but maybe for some reason 3.1 is ?
Also, are you sure you have Kick 3.1 and not 3.0 ? Maybe you try to run WB 3.1 und Kick 3.0, which could give problems ?
Also, no further ideas - sorry...

new : the floppy drive works under wb3.1 !

Configuration i used :
kick 1.3 and wb1.3 : drive ok

now, the machine is softkicked
kick 3.1 (40.63) and wb1.3 : drive ok
kick 3.1 (40.63) and wb 3.1 (40.42) : no drive
kick 3.1 (40.68) and wb 3.1 (40.42) : drive ok

Well... do the kick 3.1 40.68 exists as chip for A2000 rev 6.2 ?
