What is this PCB/Hardware that plugs in to mouse/joy port?
I came across this in a pile of cast out amiga stuff. It's a simple PCB with a couple of chips, some caps and a bunch of solder joints.
It says "Teltronic" on the PCB. Any ideas? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Some kind of r232 device? Looks like interference from raised bolts on plug/jack would prevent plugging into joy port.

Hard to tell, but I think it is some sort of tester...
Can you take two more pics: one from the Maxim chip (or just the code on it) and from the connector (or just tell if it have male or female pins)? |

A smartcard emulator communicator board....
The device plugs into a smartcard socket (probably a satellite box) and using software on a PC through RS232 (MAX232 Chip) the PC emulates the functions / encryption of the smartcard.... Out of date (AFAIK) but were popular approx ten years ago.... |

It is what is called a SEASON2 smartcard emulator. Was used back in the OnDigital days to log the SECA keys for making your own pirate smart cards.
They were discontinued in 2001. It is pretty useless these days. |

Thanks for all the replies.... Just assumed it was Amiga kit ... Could it have been controlled from an amiga?

Dont think there was any Amiga software. Don't think Amiga serial port would have been fast enough.
