Also I thought it was CPU speed that was firmware dependent, for the ehide you just want the latest driver whatever firmware you have?

I don't have a custom rom for my TF1260 so what you said may be true but I can't confirm. Best to go on the TF official forum:

https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/v...34f9e099fddbb0

What I definitely can confirm is I have the following line to load EHIDE.device below the 4xIDE by Elbox line (both at top of my startup-sequence) & all working great in my 1200T

"LoadModule >NIL: devs:ehide.device"

TF1260 won't boot from EHIDE

I was looking on this site the other day and I saw the options for the modified Kickstart to boot from the TF1260. Have a look at the attached Pic ...Click image for larger version

Yep something you can do yourself Bromigo! With REMUS and ROMSPLITTER on the Amiga then a PC

Worth a look here for detailed instructions:

Just received the modified 3.2.1 roms and it boots fine from my 3.5" HDD. No modifications to startup-sequence. sysinfo reports 7,6mb/s more than twice as fast as 4xide adapter.

Fab - its always better to have the custom roms and avoid messing around with the startup sequence.

That is good going in terms of sysinfo - using a CF adapter I only get around 4.5 to 5 mb/s and the upper end of that is with the CPU overclocked a lot.

My CPU is a 68LC060 clocked at 60Mhz rev4 I think, not software overclocked. 7,6mb/s is blazing fast for me.

There's another easy way to build a 1MB ROM for the A1200 if you have a Mac or Linux machine:

https://github.com/reinauer/amiga-ro.../main/software

For the A1200 you can put ehide.device directly into your ROM so you can boot off the TF1260 IDE without hacks.

It will allow you to add other stuff to the ROM as well, like putting workbench.library and icon.library back into the ROM, add HrtMon, additional filesystems, or whatever you like (it is extensible too, contributions welcome)
