I Have A Ton Of Old Stuff To Upload

Greetings,
All I need is a server somewhere, with about 1Gb free initially, I don't want anything in return, except for the occasional hand with some problems of my own.

Anyone can point me in the right direction?

Paul

Send a message via ICQ to lilalurl
Magix's FTP is probably what you want.

Not to rain on your Parade or gesture Paul but in todays day and age most if not all 'ton of stuff' already probably exists in one form or another.

You'll have to compare 'your stuff' to what is already in recognised collections and exisiting archives and associated Amiga sites, then filter it through other considerations beyond the scope of this post

It saves you time as well

what is this stuff anyway?

Can you be sure Magix would appreciate such a large upload + it also being initially. There is a space limit 'n' we all would like to use it.

You should check your collection against the latest TOSEC dats (http://www.tosec.org/userfiles/Compl...-03-14_CM).zip) like Slayer said, before you upload Loedown Depending on how much is left you should either use Magix FTP (<100 MB) or make a torrent on a free site

It would also be a good idea to compress the disk images using 7zip (or something similar) before you upload them if you haven't already.

Greetings,

This stuff is all sorts, but yes, I will sift through and work out what's not online, then I will present a list, but don't expect it all overnight

I have my collection, plus a recently departed friend's collection and a further amount coming down from yonder in the next few weeks.

Oh and the CD I got burnt many years ago with 1150 titles on it, which is something I can submit here, for download.

Unfortunately, my friend and seeing as I am about the only one he knew with an Amiga, it seemed to be an obvious choice, I have to sift the discs, to see if any of his pictures are there, he was a fantastic graphic artist, but like all artists, disorganised.

What could be important to preserve is a) any game titles not present in hol/tosec, b) any unusual cracktros, c) work disks of yours or your friend's with stuff you made. As for the games themselves (ones already present in tosec), you'd have to make a binary compare of the .adfs to be sure you have an alternate disc version of the game.

Due to the wiseness of the little bastards that encoded the disc, I have to individually load and check what is exactly what, there's certainly some oddball titles and I plan to have the whole thing ready by about Tuesday 24th Feb.

I'll put a new list up on the board when I know what everything is, some of it will need to be updated later, some titles are bootable, some will be WB only, those I won't know until later, some are just completely shagged, key 880 etc and some lockup / loop.

Progress is being made, have faith,

Paul

Greetings,

As promised, here's the first 900 or so titles, the remainder will be finished tomorrow, then I have to check what the non loading ones are, most likely disc 2 of something or alike, as things are cleaned up, I'll amend the list and repost with a date. If you want something, ask.
