Yes it does now, same as ODAMEX and chocolate Doom, heretic, Hexen and strife.

Just install CAMD and then copy some MIDI files into the music folder to play in AmiDuke. Check the output text for the required MIDI filenames.

I thought that the AGA version did not have MIDI implemented, only in the RTG. I am sorry

Oh yes, sorry you are correct...only RTG versions support native MIDI, I'm no longer doing anything with AGA

I keep getting a error in the SDL log saying it cant find CAMD, I am not sure I have it installed properly as the 2 versions of CAMD from aminet dont have install scripts, I just copied the lib file to libs and the prefs program to prefs does anybody have a known working version?

Have you actually run the prefs program?

CAMD can be tricky to setup, I seem to remember you have to run the Prefs program and play with the settings a bit.

I remember that I had a similar problem but I can't remember how I fixed it.

Can anyone else help with CAMD setup here?

Wondering if anyone else has noticed that when you are moving forward and simultaneously press jump then your forward momentum ends. So, I have to end up moving forward, stop moving forward, press jump and then move forward to ultimately jump forward.

The machine that I notice this on is a A600 w/ Vampire, A600 PC Key and Amiga Technologies A4k keyboard.

But, when I tested the game using my A500 / checkmate / Blizz 060 / GBAPI RTG with A500/checkmate keyboard then it was not happening.

So, I think it is a hardware issue. Just wondering if anyone else noticed it?

could be that a600 pc key can't process concurrent key presses

If it's only happening on the Vampire FPGA then it's not a software issue, it's a hardware issue

I have uploaded a binary to the zone, it is in test_w_and_space.lha. Can someone run this program in CLI and see if you can get both SPACE and W to return "1".

To quit, just do a Ctrl-C.

BTW, for me on the machine described above, they are mutually exclusive in that if I hold down 'W' and then press 'SPACE' the 'SPACE' value is '1' and 'W' becomes '0'. It uses lowlevel libraries's QueryKeys and queries raw key codes 0x40 (space) and 0x11 (w).

Regards.

Actually, I made a mistake because it was not the jumping that was the issue so much, it was strafing.

So, the issue was holding down W (go forward) and A/D (left/right) at the same time. This was not working.

It has been a while, and I am not sure I tested that on the 500 machine. So, I have also updated test_w_a_s_d.lha to the zone.

So, firstly: does this work for other people / does the program show that those keys can be detected at the same time using that LHA?

thanks.

Something about the AGA version is a small color base. It's a pity because only this incomplete color base works nicely.

I see a new version of AmiDuke was uploaded to Aminet today.

Many Thanks.

How did this fix come about? Was it that people were playing it on PiStorm? I saw some good performance running it using Emu68.

There is an RTG port of Duke Nukem with AHI sound also being played on PiSTorm which is naturally much faster as it isn't really running on the Amiga at all.

It was just a minor bug I noticed while playing the AGA version which got me looking at a code and then I also noticed a different minor bug in the RTG version.

Cool to know

You could say the same thing about anything running on a Vampire

@ NovaCoder
The new version of AmiDukeRTG posted on Aminet crashes on the menu, do you need to change something on the configuration? the old version works perfectly.

Thanks for letting me know. Can you also try the AGA version?

Thanks

Does it crash as soon as you open the menu in game or just crashes at start up?
