TCP/IP stack: Most optimized//small?

The title says it all.
What's the most optimized, nice TCP/IP stack I could use?

I would appreciate if I don't have to fuck around with MILLIONS of command line shit, a few are fine. What would be the best to use in my 030 A1200?

I am thinking about using Siamese but I don't want to clog my Amiga up with unstable crap like Miami DX

AmiTCP 3.0b2 is pretty small and reliable. I run it on my A600 with 2M Chip RAM when using the network card.

TermiteTCP perhaps is not pretty, but it is surely small.

Termite TCP only supports serial connections.

I wouldnt even bother with Siamese unless there is a specific feature you REALLY need. What do you want it for? An alternative to an RTG gfx card? It really sucks you know.

Miami or Genesis are your only two real choices for ease of use.

try miami 1.x version or 2.x version

I'm really not against something a bit more complicated, I am not scared of commandlines or Amiga scripting, heck, even AREXX :P

I thought Siamese was a nice way to get stuff linked to the amiga like the drives and all that. Also, I could use it all from my PC without touching the Amiga. At times it would be convenient. Not really sure! Seemed always like a pretty cool solution or something cool to try.

In any case it won't hurt to have an optimized TCP/IP stack in there, though I don't even have a network card that works now (never got my wireless one to run ;()

You need AmigaExplorer. It is the mutts, nuts for for connecting Amiga to Windows PC and via serial you don't need TCP/IP. (Of course it is much slower).

Oh and I think that the drive mounting part of Siamese doesnt work with anything after Windows98 (i.e. doesnt work with Windows 2k or XP etc.)

You would need AmigaExplorer or Amiga SAMBA to mount drives.

Unless you want to access the internet on your Amiga... I wouldnt bother.

Drive mounting works in XP at least (haven't tried in Vista). Siamese is nice because the Amiga mounts like PC file systems, not the other way around like the AE.

Maybe I was thinking about the SCSI networking rather than drive mounting.

With Amiga SAMBA the PC drives are mounted on the Amiga too.

I'd still stick with Siamese. Again, like AE there's no need for TCP/IP if your using serial.

Samba (smbclient, smbfs) has too many system requirements and stability problems to be useful.

Heard from a coder friend there's a TCP/IP stack in <256 bytes of code. Might ask him again what PU it was for, probably some embedded thingy.

Dunno about either of those two, but Amiga SAMBA is as solid as a rock. As for system requirements... dunno.

Worked un-noticably on a 16Mbyte A4000/040@25.

My copy is probably old, came free on a CD with my X-Surf from Eyetech.

Probably the one ppil linked, or he mentioned the one in the Contiki OS.

Thanks pil! But it seems it's only for SANA-II cards.

All PCMCIA ethernet/wireless card drivers for AmigaOS (cnet.device, 3c589.device and prism2.device) are SANA-II compatible.
