Updated CD32 Expansion adapter, Scart, VGA, Keyboard

Hi All,

Here is the next item for show, i have made a few updates to the CD32 expansion adapter board. It now has SCART, RGB and fully working keyboard adapter plugin courtesy of Paul Willinghams code . It already has Stedy's mods added to the board so all you need is a simple Scart > Scart cable. (audio is functional through the Scart cable). The keyboard cable exits to the left (and not down)

Price of this board with the extras on it will be $29 USD, if you want the older version "as is/was" then that remains at $23 USD.

couple more items left...

I was tempted, but adding stedys mods is a problem. As there are three different revisions of his mod and they all effect different TV's. So if you happen to have a TV that doesn't like the one you have included, then your stuffed as its not a simple case of just changing / modding cable.
Unless you have only included mod to scart socket?

Something that would be nice to add, is a Jack socket for audio.

Can the original board be 'upgraded' to enable the keyboard connector?

nice thing is it can simply be bypassed on the board for those that dont want it, say the magic word

The pinout for Pauls code is slightly different for the new version. The original board was for a different code, it can be altered by someone who knows what they are doing with a knife and a soldering irom

I think what he is saying is, can we have to keyboard PIC code file so we can program the PICs to make the keyboard adapter on the old version boards work?

Why?
You have two RCA jacks on the back and one miniplug headphone jack on the front.

When purchased you told me the code was not complete so the connector wouldn't work.

Exactly! ...or can you you provide the programed chips for us?

@kipper2k, nice work, do you happen to have a pic of that board when not inserted into a CD32?
Also, has anyone 3d printed a plastic cover for it?
And.. do you have a ballpark figure for shipping cost to Europe?
Thanx

Jack to Jack is more common. I do agree though, you could just use Phono to Jack.
Jack on front makes the whole setup look ugly, thats one reason to have a jack somewhere else.

Jack to jack isn't common, in most audio setups, RCA plugs are provided.
And again, you CAN buy an RCA to MINIPLUG adapter if that's what you need!

I want one with jack plugin, no RGB, but with AT keyboard plug. Take the second edge connector out but put 16MB of memory in. Also I want it for the A500 not the CD32. While you are at it make the PCB purple, because I don't like green. Also I have no money, so please give it to me for free, it's for education purposes.

Maybe because the "requests" of Amiga people regarding new hardware can be so ridiculous, you can, sadly, believe anything!

So true. The A1200 trapdoor requests still make me smile.

The code for the new keyboard adapter is not on the public domain and the chip and config used is different to the one that i was hoping to get completed last year which has still not happened. The original board can be modded with a knife and a wire jumper and a new chip for those that want to adapt their old to the new.
As regards the audio Jacks, the audio is connected to the SCART connnector so no audio cables needed. For those concerned that Stedys mod may interfere with some models of TV's then i will bridge the resistor pads with a solder blob and provide the resistors if ever there is a need to alter it. I have to say i am very impressed with the quality of the SCART output. It is best to keep the cable as short as is possible to minimize noise and a shielded cable is best.

for a Scart cable you will need a simple pass through (no crossover) SCART cable, the pins in use are ...

2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 20 (this includes Audio signals)

Hi Brian, that sounds perfect, I would be very interest in this. My original adapter is working perfectly for me so seams sensiable to update, can you post a picture of the mod? Oh, and let me know how many $ to send! Thanks.
