I am after the IOmega Zip Drive Amiga Software by HiSoft

Title says it all really. I have just bought an IOmega Zip Drive off eBay and would love to try it out eventually. Does anyone have the driver software written by HiSoft?

It was distributed with the Jaz software and may be on the newly restored EAB server. FileZilla will do a search for you once logged on. I may have it in storage somewhere, but that would take longer to find than a good web search.

The parallel port support software is on Aminet, the fancy stuff on the disk is not.

Yeah mine is the parallel port version but maybe the SCSI one is better/faster? I know the HiSoft drivers are for the SCSI version and I do plan on getting one eventually as well as a Squirrel SCSI Interface but only if I can source the driver software.

I think what you're looking for might be here:

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search....i&ic=&intf=pcm

As for an Amiga driver for a parallel port zip drive, there's ppazip on Aminet:

http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/ppazip

Tried it here myself a few years back and, frankly, you're much better off with a SCSI zip drive if you want some decent speed.

Well the programs I had allowed use of the options to lock the drive, spin it up or down or eject it. Both the Jaz and Zip are recognized on the SCSI bus and the OS3.9 install has at least some JAZ control. To be recognized on the papal let port takes and optional program; try Aminet for ZipTools and other programs in the "disk/misc" section.

The Zip/Jaz disk management utility you might have used was ZJTools:

http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/ZJTool12

I used it a lot myself back in the day and it was the best of the lot IMHO. It doesn't include any drivers/mountlists, though.

Amiga ZIP Toolz CD ISO image is in The Zone.

HiSoft software is not included AFAIK, but might still be worth a look.

I bought this on a CD-R from eBay without knowing exactly what it contained.

Can you upload said disk to the zone please if you still have it. Any drivers for the Zip250 would be great if anyone has them. Maybe the SurfSquirrel disks contain the right drivers. I will have to take a look.
