Hi
version 3.29
Issues I have:

-Choosing not to use Skin and if TBImages assign does not exist, Player do not start
True for Aros/Amiga OS

On Aros, using Skins, cannot move, select and press buttons from the Playlist Window. The last version where PlayList window works with Aros is 2.18

Using the modplug.library seems to be working nicely, Aros/AOS :-)
Systems used, Vampire V4 Aros, Amiga 2000 AOS, Amithlon AOS

Playlist with version 2.18 works fine (you can click tracks), but if you drag mp3 files it corrupts graphics, artifacts on windows and workbench.

I think the problem is more on AROS 68k and not on AmigaAMP other programs like AmiModRadio and ModExplorer work fine graphically, probably use different libraries.

Updated the news AmigaAMP to version 3.29

Hmm, that's strange. If TBImages: doesn't exist it should fall back to text only for most of the buttons and a runtime rendered font for the 'tapedeck' controls.

I don't know much about Aros but I test it regularly under OS3.9 (without any boing bag installed) and wiithout AISS / TBImages to make sure that the 'fake tapedeck' buttons still work.

Can you please tell me more about your Aos setup? Maybe we can find out what goes wrong.

Hi.
Using with mhi driver on dsp card no sound on .mod.( prisma megamix) Select to software ahi, it is working.
Can it be auto select hardware and software decoding looking to file format?

I confirm the problem on my AROS One 68k as well.

Question: Why does AmigaAmp generate so many AmigaAMP.prefs in the ENV? This happens on all OS.

That's gonna be the next big project for the next release.

It generates one per instance. This is so that you can have for example two instances running simultaneously, each with its individual settings like window positions.

So if you don't start AmigaAMP more than twice at the same time then you should have no mora than AmigaAMP.prefs and AmigaAMP.prefs1

Alright, my plan is this:
Wenn MHI is selected as output device then AmigaAMP will still route most of the file/audio formats to that driver.
ONLY uncompressed ones (AIFF, WAV, 8SVX, ...) and tracker files (MOD, S3M, OKT, XM, IT...) that MHI currently can't handle will be decoded via sndfile.library or modplug.library and sent to AHI.
Does this sound reasonable?

or can be an option for user settings on icon tooltipes like: routing; (1=sndfile.library 0=mhidev)
mod=1
mp3=0
xm=1
wav=1

because there is different dsp cards for example some cards will encode wav but other one not so they will want to encode it with sndfile.library.

if the user will not set different settings on tooltipes, your default settings will work. or user can change it if he wants.
How is this idea?

Yes, good idea! Is there a comprehensive list somewhere with all MHI compatible DSP cards and their corresponding drivers?

So far I only know the MAS3507D ones (MP2/MP3 only) and the Prisma Megamix. The DSP on the Prisma can even play uncompressed PCM but the card's bus interface is too slow for that.

I am using the Picasso env SetAmigaVideo to force 31kHz. However, how can I verify what frequency AmigaAMP is actually using? Is there a debug or status menu? I ask as SYSINFO shows the front screen, and thats 15kHz, so I can't verify it with SYSINFO, even if I mode promote, it shows 60kHz!

thanks

AmigaAMP always outputs the file's original sampling rate. The only exception is MP2/MP3 which might be lower depending on how you've configured the mpega.library settings. But this is still completely independent of the screen mode.

It then sends that decoded audio to AHI. So the actual D/A conversion rate will be whatever you set in AHI prefs.

If the AHI prefs don't let you set it higher than ~27 kHz then the 31kHz video setting didn't work. You shuld then set it to 22.050 Hz.

Thank you very much! (Testing ensues!)

Any reason I can not play an ogg file? says both Vorbis & Opus is supported but Amp says it can't play the file.

Are you using the 68k- or the PPC-version?
Only the PPC-version can decode ogg Vorbis & Opus in software.
The 68k version needs a hardware decoder like the Prisma Megamix to play ogg files.

Ah that explains it. Thanks.
