WinUAE 3.3.0 - uaegfx in OS 4.1 FE Classic
Hi Toni,
I have recently done a fresh install of WinUAE 3.3.0 and have also installed OS 4.1 FE Classic. I copied the uaegfx from an OS 3 install and placed it in DEVS:Monitors on OS 4.1. Screenmodes appear in Prefs:Screenmode. However, changing the screen mode has random behavior, none of it is expected behavior. For example, sometimes I will get brightly colored artifacts. Sometimes the WinUAE window will grow but the actual emulated environment is still constrained to a small size (screenshot attached). I can't get a decent sized Workbench. Logs are attached. Interestingly enough when I try to do verbose logging, it crashes entirely while loading workbench and produces a .dmp file. ** I take that last part back, this time it worked for some reason without crashing. But it still frequently crashes and produces the .dmp. I'm using Windows 10, my graphics card is an NVidia GTX 970 (if that makes a difference). No onboard graphics. Thanks! |

Does anything change if you switch off RTG panel hardware sprite emulation?
EDIT: also attach your config file. |

There appears to be less graphical corruption when I do that (no bright colors, however there do appear to be ghosted icons here and there when I change screenmodes).
Config attached. |

Hardware sprite emulation is broken under OS4, was not fully converted to indirect traps. (It probably has never worked)
Try increasing VRAM size, I get same glitches with only 4M VRAM. |

Oh man, I figured it out. The uaegfx that I moved over had screenmodes available but under the modes, the Width and Height never changed values. So it was still stuffing everything in the original 800x600 (or smaller) box.
Thanks for the help regardless, much appreciated. I didn't realize I could increase VRAM size. Neat! |
