Interlace or not?
Its a while since I had a look at the Newtek demo, someone on the Atari forums brought it up and it made me want to have a look for old times sake..
On my real Amiga and 1084 i remember the interlace driving me mad with the flicker, now I booted up the demo on WinUAE (latest beta) and got a rock solid picture. Is this down to the LCD display or am I missing a setting in the WinUAE control panel. Just does not seem the same without the annoying interlace Sorry if its a really silly question but its been a while since I saw a 'lace' screen |

Display -> Interlaced line mode -> Double, fields+
It is same thing technically but it does not emulate phosphor afterglow. It is mainly meant to reduce combing in interlaced scrollers. |

Hi Toni,
I adjusted the Interlaced to what you said and no jittering, its rock solid but if I changed the line mode from double to double, fields+ then I got the lace effect flicker but also with a scanline mode mixed in... Just in case, its a standard Geforce but old card and Winuae is set to Direct3D, even cleared the stored settings and used Quickstart to chose the setup..ie no custom stuff running.. Unless you can think of something I'm doing wrong then leave it at that as I don't want to take up more of your time over something that works but just not the way I remember, I thought it might have been the LCD screen I have... What is annoying is that I started out using UAE before WinUAE was launched by you after Bernd left it, so by now you would think I might know how to use it fully Thank you.. Paul... |

It works just as I described: It just alternates odd and even lines without afterglow (either line is total black or shows Amiga display).
You get different kind of interlace emulation if you set both line modes to "Single". More correct looking interlace probably requires custom pixel shader filter. (Which is not my problem) |

Thanks for taking a second look Toni, I'll play around with it...
As for the golden rules of Toni, yup, if it isn't part of WinUAE of relevant to the thread then either don't ask or "not your problem".. No one likes being hit on the head with a crystal ball Paul.. |
