Question Pro Motion to Deluxe Paint?

I did some Graphics ripping to put in PRO Motion and try reduce the Colours down to either 16 or 32 Colours then then Save IFF Amiga files then went on WIN UAE Emulator and Porting Amiga IFF files to Deluxe Paint.

When I went on Deluxe paint to click the files I have port to and Deluxe Paint was telling me what Screen setting and it was 256 Colours which left me feeling confused.

I thought I did reduce Colours in Pro Motion before porting to Deluxe paint but then Deluxe paint was saying it is 256 Colours when should be 16 OR 32 Colour......

So then I had reduce Colours again in Deluxe paint and doesnt look good as maybe Palette have mess up somehow.

Have anyone had that problem?

Question

Can ProMotion reduce a palette and remap without changing the destination screenmode?

I think it can reduce the Palette of colours but screen mode? no, it doesnt have that(see screenshot below!)

When I load Image to PRO Motion and Pro Motion ask me this(I did reduce colours before)

Should I Select Current Palette?

Pretty sure this is a long standing problem in ProMotion.

Use Ppaint instead Amiga side, it will do a good job for you.

Protip: if you can manage to find a PC copy of TVPaint it will output to a Amiga iff...
Best bitmap animation software ever made. But expensive. You might find an old copy of the no defunct Bauhaus Mirage for PC which was a licensed version of TVPaint although very old at this point. But it would load save and convert most anything to iff.
