XBox 360 controller support (hat switch)

Hi,

recently i got me a Microsoft XBox 360 controller and intended to use it to play Turrican on Winuae. Basically this worked out of the box, I selected it in the config and were able to use either the analog stick of the digital gamepad to control the movement. The gamepad is recognized as a "hat switch" in this case.

Although the analog stick works I would prefer to use the digital gamepad for movement, unfortunately this only works to some degree. While I can use the 4 main directions (up/down, left/right) it is not possible to move diagonally (eg. I can't jump sideways with Turrican). Every time I press a diagonal direction on the gamepad it is recognized as either a straight vertical or horizontal selection (eg. pressing up-right is recognized a up only).

In Windows the gamepad works fine when I test it with the calibration dialog. Here the diagonal selection are perfectly recognized.

I tried a lot of configuration option in Winuae but wasn't able to solve this problem. Can anybody help me with this? Or is this a bug.. err... missing feature in Winuae?

It is a bug. Working in 2.3.3. Broken in 2.4.0

Not a bug. (which is exactly as useless as "it is a bug" "report")

Works fine here, both analog and dpad diagonal movements.
I always use XBox wireless pad when testing WinUAE joystick support.

EDIT: include winuaebootlog.txt, thanks.

Oops, sorry.

Wired XBOX360 controller really does have problem with dpad. Strange that wired and wireless are so different.. Or perhaps there are different revisions or something.

I indeed use the wired version. I'll post the winuaebootlog.txt file when I'm back home. Or can you reproduce the situation by yourself now?

Confirmed and will be fixed in next beta, thanks. (Strange that no one else reported this until now)
