Searching for 2 game names
Hi there,
I´m searching for two game names. ![]() The first game looks like a chess board but larger. You had to get the biggest corporation by buying tiles of the board from the selection available. If 2 or 3 tiles are next to each other you can form a corporation and buy shares from it. When 2 or more corporations are merged by selecting the tile between them you´ll get paid for the smaller company which will become part of the larger and according to your bought shares. The second game was an English learning adventure game with superheroes and villains. Only thing I still really know is that when you got too many wrong answers your hero died and the only thing shown was an axe coming down and the sentence: This scene was cut because it´s too cruel or sth. like that. Anyone know these games? I´ve been searching for ages. ![]() Many thx in advance |

The first game description matches closely components of the board game Acquire:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquire Maybe a PD conversion? Edit: Seems like there was a SNES game (Japan only release it seems) based on Acquire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Dream Edit2: Those guys reference a list of board games adapted in videogames and there is notable a DOS adaptation of Acquire mentioned: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/8323 Last edited by lilalurl; 26 September 2009 at 10:23. |

Thanks. Yes, it was Acquire or a game based on it. Even the names of the companies are the same: Luxor, Continental etc. Remembered them when we read them. So many thx for this advice. We´ll certainly buy now the board game which is available.
![]() Should have been Amiga games. The only others we had was an Apple with green/black screen and a Commodore 64. Since both games were in colour it couldn´t have been the Apple. Both my sister and me are pretty sure it was the Amiga. |
