Cool!. Will check it out tonight. Also, why there isn't a playable version with the graphics of the first game?. I mean the big sprite ones with the playability of the super version. Not possible on amiga?. I am aware of the other version of super, that looked cool, but was slow.

Or get the original WHDload version and update it with the DX files (http://www.amiworx.de/ssf2dx.html)!

Ok, I thought this was the non-updated version, because even the zip says that it's the DX version, when I start the game using WHDLOAD, it says that the game is the original version.

Regards

I found a real CD ROM.
I will make an iso for you.

But if someone has the original image, please upload it.

Hehe wish I'd done more with this, had a whole set of new backgrounds but think I've lost them.

At the time there was a 30 euro reward to get it working but it wasn't clever coding or anything, iirc it was something to do with changing some parameters of burning the iso

Would the new backgrounds benefit from fastRAM?

No there just images. If theres a command line tool to convert IFF to RAW it probably wouldn't be too hard to create a little tool so people could load there own images.

haha I remember Earok asking aeons ago how to get it booting on a CD32, however nowdays such a project with the toolchain etc he probably has would probably be so easy for him. I wonder if you could cheekily ask him if he might be interested in creating such a tool.

I think it was you that told me the secret all those years ago, it's really just to set all of the ISO CD settings to the absolute bare minimum to reduce RAM consumption (Set Dir Cache, Data Cache, File Lock and File Handle to 0, it'll replace the values with the bare minimum RAM required).

I'm probably going to be too busy with Scorpion stuff for awhile, *but* I've suggested the idea to the Amiga Tool Jam discord if someone wants to pick it up as their project - https://itch.io/jam/amigatooljam https://discord.gg/5x2G2aGXYR

Yes long ago in a far away galaxy. Child's play to you now. Thanks anyway. I might pick it up if no else does. I have a few questions

1) How hard do you think it would be to alter to allow loading of bigger Sprites and background etc

2) Is it worth it? Can Scorpion do it? The best thing about Amiga SSF2 is the gameplay, do you think Scorpion could recreate this?

1) Probably quite hard - bigger sprites would probably require alterations to the code that handles blitting and collision detection.

2) Scorpion is probably at the point where it could do a Street Fighter clone, NEESO's experiments with SF2 were encouraging and msmalik681 has been working on an enhanced version of SF1. Though in practice, there may be some absolutely required features that I haven't thought of that aren't in Scorpion yet.
