it is free, at the moment, but there is talk of some kind of "deluxe" edition with more stuff in it that they will charge for. Now I know under some part of the GPL they can do this but I am not sure that everything they have in it is open source and protected under the GPL. In any case the main thing is that source gets his computer. And by this point I would be kicking off big time.

Fantastic
Yeah....

*IF* (and that's a big IF) I had that kind of money to spare on what is essentially pleasant nostalgia, I'd be buying amikit's offering with os4. That would seem like a better road to travel.

Shouldn't these Chinese Mac rip-offs be cheaper than the authentic version?

Given this excuse given by their cto I doubt we will see any price drops soon.

I was under the impression that amigakit were stocking the x1000.

I could be mistaken, but if I (and I don't) have 2 grand, that would be the direction I'd take.

Then again, in the x1000 thread I also voiced that 2 grand for the x1000 was too steep for what you get IMO... Which makes CUSA's offering simply insane.

... But that's a metal box with a mini ITX inside an only the Amiga name outside. What's the relationship with Amiga?

I think I will start selling Amiga stickers for those who want to call his PC "Amiga". Seeing his prices I'm thinking in asking $400 for each sticker...

There's nothing nice to be said of this sort of thing. Worse is if people actually go and buy this garbage. I can't wait for this whole deal to go bust.
