So this baffles me that it seems a few of you worked for games companies and were in cracking groups. Were you crackers that then worked for games companies , or was this at the same time,

No cracking for me whilst I worked in the software industry, if you look over my release history, you can see a space of a year and a half where I didn't crack any new software, but after I left, I did a few releases.

But mostly, when you get into the software industry, you leave that stuff behind, mainly, because you simply haven't got the time for it anymore.

Putting in 14 hour days and sleeping under your desk doesn't give you much love toward Amiga

The SC2 source helped me to improve my Supercars III java remake. I also have access to Jim Power source which I used to make CD32 conversion easier!

Note that a few game executables weren't stripped of their symbols: examples: Thexder, Earl Weaver Baseball (partially), Zool 2 CD32 & Roadkill CD32. No comments, but all variable & function names!
Dude, of all the games they wrote and published, you've got 3 out of HUNDREDS.

I might still have Premier Manager 3 Deluxe and Multi-Edit, but that would be a search.

On the Gremlin A3000 (which surely still survives), the source code to ECS and AGA Shadow Fighter was on the hard drive.

Most of the Gremlin source is gone!

All the Thalion source was held on an Amiga 2000 which went to BlueByte and sometime between 1998 and 2006 it was thrown away

There is a chance that the sub-teams kept their own copies.

Among others, would enjoy seeing the source codes of "The Faery Tale Adventure", "Dungeon Master", "The Sentinel" & "Dragon's Lair" games

At least the Atari ST version of Trex Warrior is archived on Michael Bittner's ATARI Mega ST and ATARI SH205 harddisc setup (now owned by Thorsten Mutschall).

Are you sure? What are the chances of us getting our hands on the data on that drive? I could send a USB->AHCI adapter if they would be willing.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I have a copy of the Zool source code.

It seems to only be the main code, e.g. the graphics / audio aren't present.

I was sent this around 1993 while I was at university - I can't remember the exact circumstances of how.

Interesting! We'd love that. Even if Zool CD32 executable has symbols and it helps a lot understanding the game.

BTW Dungeon Master has been reversed pretty neatly, and the guy claims that he can get the same binary (because he used the same C compiler). So there's a C code that's very close to the original game.

there are incbin in this file (ex: incbin d:\graphics\zoolrun.spr). Do you also have those files?
Anyway, they can probably be ripped from the binary code now.

Sorry, the Zool.s is all I have...

I re-discovered recently on an Amiga floppy containing my university project code for the AMD Am29000

I'd assumed The New Tracks used some of the code, though I could be wrong as I've never played it.

Such a shame so much of this stuff is gone, it's no different to those Universal music masters that were destroyed by fire a few years ago. I guess some of the Lotus and Supercars code survives because it was developed by Magnetic Fields rather than Gremlin themselves.
