Smile CD32 PCB ruler

Apparently this hasn't been done before, so I thought I would give it go with the gerber files I'v created from amigapcb.org data: a CD32 PCB ruler!

It is still a work in progress. All the IC's and connectors are on the top layer and I'm going to put the rest on the bottom layer.

Update 24-07-2020
I've decided to make it 40 cm long so I could fit more components on the top layer.

Update 11-08-2021
I've uploaded the latest design I was working on last year: https://github.com/cd32freak/CD32-PCB-ruler-Rev-1

Update 09-09-2021
I've cleaned up the Sprint Layout file and disabled the two inner layers which didn't make sense (thanks seb132). On the back side I've removed the experimental measurement in mills, because it's not necessary.

Update 27-09-2021
I've ordered some CD32 PCB rulers in black at JLCPCB.com (minimum order is 5), because I was so curious how it would like in real life and here it is:

Yes, here it is: https://github.com/cd32freak/CD32-PCB-ruler-Rev-1
The Gerbers aren't final yet, because I keep changing the layout. There is still some room on the bottom layer

It would be hilarious if you populated one. I'm going to have to make some in purple - probably a bad idea... as they will stain.

Lightbulb

The idea behind the pcb ruler is, that you could use it as a practice pcb before you solder components on a real Amiga motherboard. The Akiko for example has very delicate pins, but you can buy dummy 160 pin PQFP chips and practice with these on the pcb ruler

That would probably trigger half the community for wasting chips.

Stick an FMV cartridge onto the expansion slot and you have a right angle ruler - only Amiga makes it possible

Is it possible to have these released on a GitHub or somewhere?

It's really cool but JLCPCB complains about the DRILL layer (not found). So it's not usable.

Thanks, mate, I have replaced the file at JLCPCB ; let's see how it goes.

By the way this PCB could probably benefit from being 2 layers only so cheaper to manufacture...

Now they have a problem with the PCB contour... the trim layer is showing a VERY LARGE PCB in which is the ruler in a corner...

***Edit: you have PM
