It's the zig zagging cars isn't it. They look so predictable but every so often do something annoying.

It's always been a great game but maaaan.... but even when you know the track it's exactly as you said, it's random chance half the time when some turd zig zags into your path on a part of the track that you know to avoid which puts you at as much of a halt as the obstacle you know is coming with nowhere to go |

Lol. And don't forget the sudden braking. Lots of these races, the traffic is harder than the course. I still enjoy the challenge though.

The mods have been chatting about potential ways to re-structure the knockout because this is he first year we have run a shorter event and would like to get it working as well as possible. A few ideas came up but there's not time to hammer out the details. We'll probably come back to it next year and get a bit of feedback from everyone.
In the meantime, a good idea has been mentioned, to give as many players as possible a chance to play more than one game. If there are enough entries this year we can turn the next round into a group stage. 4 groups. Top player from each group goes into the semi-final. An expanded quarter final if you will. 14+ players enter = 12 qualify (4 groups of 3) Sound good? If there's no major objections that's what we'll do. I've updated the OP with details. Anyone out there worried they won't make the grade, don't worry anymore, just put in your best score and you've a good chance of getting through. Last edited by Biscuit; 10 December 2021 at 19:56. |

Not long left. We are getting close to 14 players. Another 1 from here might make the difference. Now's the time to throw your hat in the ring.

Maaan... my score is pathetic comparatively.. just hard to find time with my 3 year old and another due in a month. I'll try to make an effort.

It's good to see you playing again anyway. If you're short on time, check out the extra game going up tomorrow.

In a surprising flurry of activity this weekend our numbers have jumped high enough to see 12 players advance to the next round. Big thanks to everyone that took part.
One surprise deserves another. So, the next three rounds will be in a slightly different format than expected. In a way that gives more people a chance of continuing. I'll take the risk that this will be okay. When discussing possible changes to the knockout, something that all the mods were keen to see is a new final of three people all competing with each other for the final positions. Very recently there was an idea for us to reach that without being too different to what we have now. Quarter Final = 12 people in 3 groups of 4. The top two people from each group go forward to the Semi Final. Semi Final = 6 people in 3 paired matches. The three winners go on to the final. Grand Final = a triple threat match to decide the final positions. As you can see, in each round we knock out 50% of the players. Hopefully that sounds good to everyone. Now to seed and randomly allocate our 12 players into 3 groups. The top 3 players form the head of each group. The next three (4-6) will be split into each group. And so on. Stevengton v ? v ? v ? john4p v ? v ? v ? Biscuit v ? v ? v ? Our key letter is G = 7. Using that number we keep counting round players 4,5,6 until landing on a player. Remove them and continue. Then repeating it for players 7,8,9 and 10,11,12. Is it getting complicated enough yet. Giving us (amusingly): 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Group A: Stevengton Parpala capehorn Joni2 Group B: john4p lifeschool jPV LinesMachine Group C: Biscuit Girolamo85 Juanma el_pasi The same process will be done at the end of the quarter final, using the first letter of the player who finishes 2nd in group C. |
