20 June 2024: 30 years RIP Jay Miner

In a few weeks we will commemorate the sad 30th death anniversary of Jay Miner, The Father of the Amiga. On that occasion, I was wondering if the Amiga Community could do something in the memory of the Man whose vision and work had so much impact on our lives and on the personal computer industry. Maybe some members work in the Silicon Valley or live not too far away from Mountain View and could bring some red and white flowers on his grave? Or maybe some member personally knows some of the old timers who worked with Jay Miner and could contact them in order to arrange something?

That's a wonderful idea, hopefully we will hear from some people close to Silicon Valley, RIP Jay.

Do you know where Jay Miner is interred? If so, would you be able to create a virtual memorial for him at:

And then Amiga users all over the world can leave virtual flowers for him at any point going forward, this year and in future years.

I don't know how things work in the US but maybe as he lived and died in Mountain View, was he buried there? Or maybe the fact that the memorial service took place at the Palo Alto Unitarian Universalist Church could give a hint? Also, according to https://themission.tripod.com/padrecolor.html he had two nieces who hopefully are still alive and might be willing to share that information with the Amiga Community? Finally, since some people made interviews with Amiga Legends like RJ Mical, they must have the contact info of those Legends and could ask them if they know that information?

Are you aware we also have International Amiga Day that holds annually on May 31st and celebrates Jay Miner's birthday?

Yes I am, and that's great! And it would be awesome if there were a Jay Miner avenue or Jay Miner street somewhere in the Silicon Valley!
