Panasonic JU-253-043P woes
I have a JU-253-043P drive in need of repair.
![]() The small disk detector switch has broken off and I need to mend it. Question is, how do I remove the top plate holding the disk, without royally screwing up the drive ? ![]() Ok got it open now. Shite bad bad switch design by Panasonic here.. Why couldn't it be spring loaded like a Chinon-FB354.... ![]() [edit] Feck it.. I have ordered a couple of new drives from AmigaKit now. ![]() Last edited by Retroplay; 14 December 2012 at 00:05. |

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but the question of how to remove the metal plate had not been answered.
The answer is that you need to remove the eject button first (lift up the tab at the back of it first before pulling it out). Then press in the metal eject button holder, holding it there whilst lifting up the metal plate and the holding up the top read head. It's a tricky combination, but easy once you know how. |

I'm trying to fix my JU-253-043P and found this thread, and I did spend ages trying to figure it out, so I thought I would save other people some time!
