A4000 Buster chip version

Is it possible to read the buster version information
with software ?
How about the processor , then ?

You can't, AFAIK - but the version is printed on the chip.
what about the processor?

No - Buster does not respond to arbitrary commands, it does not respond with version numbers. Its job is to control the Zorro / Zorro II buses.

Yes. You can poll for instruction set lists, and from that you can deduce what chip it is.

Ok it seems that my Buster version is 11 ( the newest one?). And my A3640 (?) Processor card is v 3.0 by Commodore.
How easy/ hard would it be to upgrade my card to 3.2 ( newest? ) ?

It requires that you can desolder surface mount chips; it's not easy.

You could talk to tbtorro. He was selling A3640 upgrade chips over on AmiBay a little while ago.

I also believe he performs up-grade/repair services for a nominal fee.

He is also contactable on these forums too.
