Prison (Cody) can't LOAD a game

(catches the eye better here, so I moved it)

Update time, boys

Well it's been quite a while since Cody uploaded this game. Meanwhile. I've been giving that Prison image to three guys with three different Amiga machines (NOT emulators! ) , and none of them was able to LOAD a game.
The question is what's good _saving_ a game if you cannot RESTORE it after a "GAME OVER"?!
I'm beginning to think that Cody's image is fully working except the loading-game routine. Or there's some other way to load a game. Some guy posted here that you have to press the 'L' key to load a game from the save disk - this didn't work ( = nothing happened).
Does anyone of you have a different image of Prison I could try with?

(I do NOT mean the old image that crashes both the Amiga and the emulator at the intro screen, though )
Thanks in advance...

Andreas....the only hope for prsion and Cadaver and Cannon Fodder saves, etc is this:
Save state emulation. Now, for the UAE is now a thing of reality. We Windoze and Macintosh() UAE emulator users must wait....lets hope the highly touted updates of these emus will include it. the MacUAE is to take full advantage of OS X' Unix kernel. TAHT will be AWESOME..easy to port to the Mac platform.

Has any OS matched its stability and quality? What better core to bulid on than UNIX??
And Don't say Amiga OS..It was great, but its not going to be as widespread as it was.

Evil grin Nooooooooooo!

Fred: I can SAVE but I can't LOAD (aka RESTORE)!
:laugh

Saving is no problem!

I just need someone to tell me the right key, that's all!

- Some guy posted here that you have to press the 'L' key to load a game from the save disk - this didn't work ( = nothing happened).

I was the one who posted and it worked to a point for me (in emulation), that is it asked for the save disk then read tracks from 0 to 21 (if i remember well) but then nothing happened as if the save was invalid.

Do you (or your friends) got to the message asking for the save disk after pressing "L" or not?

One more thing, i believe the "L" must be pressed after choosing the language and instead of pressing "FIRE", have you tried that already?

Happy Good news!

Hey ptrchiappe!

I tested your tip on the real thing again after almost 5 months, and indeed it worked! Thanks!

Now some other good news: saving the game works!
The trick is to create a custom ADF using WinUAE 0.8.17 R2 or R3 and use that as a save disk. (It won't work with a standard ADF.)
This time you won't get a message to re-insert the save disk - it just works! :bounce

Thank you for the good news.

Unfortunately i'm a bit busy at work in this period, so i don't have time to play this game (and nobody has done a correction to make it run on the A1200) but i'll surely try asap when i have more time!
