Floppy disk Help with Capitoline

Hi,
I came across Capitoline so thought I would have a go at making a custom ROM with it,
I have run the program with my 3.2.2.1 ROM (A1200.47.111.rom) I have just bought from Hyperion - in the object browser though the A1200.47.111.rom is just coloured red and when i look at the components binary chucnks and click on 1Mb_Scantable_3.2 is just says 'Unknown, no INI, no default in the right hand screen,
Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

It sounds like you don't have the definitions - if you haven't, you need to unzip all the files (specifically the "Capitoline Hashes" directory).

Still no look - i looked in Hashes and found in the Hyperion directory:
0x2b653371.A1200.47.102.rom

My Rom in the Rom directory is:

A1200.47.111.rom

Could this be the problem? It is the latest version 3.2.2.1 Rom

The checksum for the A1200 47.111 ROM should be 0x5c40328a (so there should be a hash file with that at the beginning - and have 111 in the name, have you got the latest Cap download?)

When you click on a red item, in the right panel you'll get the "Unknown" message, but also the CRC32 checksum - what does it say there?

Ahhhh... old code, probably from the old website?, will shut that down once I have reset the password!

All the latest code (and a much more comprehensive website) is here now;

Just need to get the CLI part to work (I'm not a coder so this is a bit difficult)

With the 3.2.2 ROM for the A1200 you can simply use the CD32 exec from the ADF, it's already patched (in fact as a 2Mb ROM) and is otherwise the same as the A1200.

There's also a 1Mb ROM "recipe" that you can just run and it creates a load of default 1Mb ROMs for you, run the "rat.exe" GUI and (assuming you have the modules/ADFs) you don't need to do anything much!

I've now managed to make the ROM's
I made the PCMCIA A1200 1MB

Do I need to change anything in the startup-sequence as when i tried to boot it says it can't find workbench.library and icon.library?

The libraries are present in the 1MB ROM so it shouldn't need them on hard drive

The whole point of the 1Mb ROM is that it has workbench.library and icon.library in the ROM and it shouldn't need them on the hard drive.

How did you make the ROM? was it using the standard recipe (via RAT) or did you do it manually?

Hmmm.... that's odd, in RatGUI do you have the green ticks next to the generated ROMs? There's also a log file in Logs called "Hyperion.3.2.2.1Mb.PCMCIA.A1200.txt" - can you post it?
I just tested the Rat generated ROMs in WinUAE and they definitely picked up the extra libraries OK, so if the CRCs are correct, then I don't know what's going on!
are you burning to EPROM or using in WinUAE?

Hi,
Burning to EPROM (27C800), though a test in WinUAE produced the same result
I'll grab the log in a minute and put that up for you (I'm on my work comp today)

The only thing I can think of is wether or not i had all the correct files in the ADFs?
