Camel Racer, Gangster Pursuit - wrong hardware labels
HoL link: https://hol.abime.net/4345
HoL link: https://hol.abime.net/4343 So, about harware labels "CD32/CDTV"... I did lot of tests and here are the results... 68000 OCS - works perfectly, bootable (early boot menu or autoboot), or can be run from WB and Shell 68000 ECS - works perfectly, bootable (early boot menu or autoboot), or can be run from WB and Shell 68020 OCS - works perfectly, bootable (early boot menu or autoboot), or can be run from WB and Shell 68020 ECS - works perfectly, bootable (early boot menu or autoboot), or can be run from WB and Shell 68020 AGA - works perfectly, bootable (early boot menu or autoboot), or can be run from WB and Shell CD32 - works perfectly, bootable with standard CD32 startup procedure CDTV - !!!!!! doesn't work works perfectly, bootable with standard CDTV startup procedure (but needs 1.5MB RAM at least!!!!) Edit note: CDTV changed ->This game needs at least 1.5MB ram. Everything is retested again and really needs minimally 1.5MB ram everywhere. (That's why, I wrote last time, the game doesn't work on CDTV, where basic configuration was used) So, due to this I wrote above, the new hardware label for these 2 games should be: AmigaCD/CD32/CDTV And also, there should be added important note: The game needs at least 1.5MB ram. Note: ...on the discscans we can see CD32, there's a talk in the manual about A1200+CD... In the manual we can see more informations, here is the link: http://www.kwizoke.co.uk/kwizoke%20manual.pdf About years: These 2 games have unknown years. I think It could be changed. I have looked at startup-sequences of both games and we can see there also this: Camel Racer ; Startup-Sequence for Camel Racing 21st January 1998 ; Written by John Blackburn ; All material on this CD is Copyright - do not distribute!! Gangster Pursuit ; Startup-Sequence for Gangster Pursuit 9th March 1998 ; Written by John Blackburn ; All material on this CD is Copyright - do not distribute!! So due to this, I think, release year could be changed to: 1998 Yet note: I am not sure, if it is suitable to speak here about "Games" at all, when there is nothing to play in these games, you can only watch which camel or which gangster randomly wins the race and you can bet on it (at home)... but probably we can see similar games in HoL, but It's not also important. But minimally due to this, there could be added yet "Theme": Games - Gambling That's all... Last edited by Velociraptor5; 21 June 2022 at 23:55. Reason: CDTV changed |

@TCD
Look at it again above. Now is everything 50x retested and confirmed. You can add there only "AmigaCD" to harware label without fear and also the note. Now, there is already nothing to discuss. I spent all afternoon to find out, where the problem is, so, you could change it, if it's not a big problem for you. And maybe also "Year" and "Theme"... |

Those games were made for a special hardware using the CD32. Not touching those entries with a long stick

Look properly at that manual. Is there something about CD32? There is a talk about CD only and A1200 (keyboard).
But if according to you the game is made for a special hardware using the CD32, so in this case delete CDTV from the entry, i have no problem with it, because it seems the game is working on CDTV only randomly and moreover needs at least 1.5MB ram a that was not really standard CDTV configuration. And It was also my original suggest (to cancel CDTV). |
