With regard to the Vampires, it might be worth testing it on the V500 which has the newest core. I'm pretty sure there was a change to the FPU in that core which means it should have the most recent FPU version.

I see the game can do 640x400/480 and uses DBLNTSC and DBLPAL modes, but it can't use regular NTSC and PAL. Is there a way to make it use NTSC 640x400 and PAL 640x512? They are faster than the ECS double scanned modes.

Interlaced modes are filtered out, as I found them to be too slow during testing, and they looked really bad. In hindsight maybe I should have removed resolutions above 320x240 for native chipset modes altogether, as they are not practical. |

Well I found on ADoom running the native modes (NTSC 640x400) was noticeably faster than the ECS 640x400/480 modes.

Of course, I'm not debating that PAL is faster than DBLPAL for example, but for this game going above 320x240 in native modes will tank the framerate either way. I only recommend using higher resolutions on RTG.

It's not too bad, about 12 fps for ADoom at 640x400. I would like to see what a faster 68060 can do at this resolution. I only tried it at 66MHz. Would be nice if this was not filtered out for us to try. I don't use RTG on my 1200.

ADoom runs on a completely different engine. I have tried them on an 68060 at 85 MHz and it was unplayable, allowing 640x480 with DBLPAL is just an oversight.

Not to arguing about performance, but for looking bad is not always true. I use LCD-TVs with all of my Amiga and they do flicker fix. So inter-laced modes doesn't look bad at all.

Tried 640 x 400 on my Emulated 040 (@ 1251.9 MHz)
Looks OK, gives 50-70 fps --- But the Sound is a bit off ? FYI log says: Setting video mode 640x400 (8-bpp fullscreen) Opened screen: 0x00069024 EURO:72Hz Productivity Last edited by Nobby_UK; 24 April 2021 at 07:13. |

Could you record a short video of this problem? Maybe I can figure out what's wrong. |

I thought about it, but I know next to nothing about WarpOS. I'll leave this to the experts after I released the source code.

Nice! Just dump the wav files next to the game executable, no folder is needed.
