using the Grac2 software and opening the GQ2.grac2 file. In Grac2, there is the PATH button where you can modify the name of the volume

(it is while waiting that Pngcan puts the real archives back on aminet)

Ah ok. So this is why GQ2 doesn't work for me.

Strange though, it's extracted to "DH0:GQ2" and I then set "Assign WORK: DH0:".

Damien, GRAC games do not have exe, it is an open code you can load into GRAC editor and freely modify. You launch the game in Gracplayer then.

EDIT: ah, sorry, it has been already answered.

Thanks for the hint guys

I've now cleaned up this "path" mess and standardised all games

So, adjusted the paths from:
To:
Annoying that you can't remove paths once they've been added...

RE: Geo's Quest; renamed "GQ1" --> "GQ1.GRAC2" like the others in the series.

Added "Libs" required for each game into the .LHA files i.e:
GQ = amos.library
GQ2 = amos.library and medplayer.library
GQ3 = amos.library and medplayer.library
New virus free / reworked .LHAs now in The Zone!

Just extract them to your main System: partition

@pngcan; I noticed with GQ2 and GQ3 there is a file named "GRAC.song" but no music plays at all in the games. Is this normal or a bug somewhere?

Correction; there is no "GRAC.song" file in "GQ3".

With "GQ2" though, tried loading the game in "GRACeditor2" and then Sounds --> Load Song --> Point to "GRAC.song", Save Song, and then saved the game.

Still no song though...

Just noticed in "Animations" and "Pictures" that "Work" is still set:

Really can't be bothered to change all these.

Seems to work fine without an "Assign WORK: DH0:" but maybe best to add anyway just in case.

I know

In "GQ2" there is a "GRAC.song" file but it doesn't play.

In "GQ3" there is no "GRAC.song" file.

Another question for pngcan.

Is "GQ2" actually called "Geo's Quest 2 - In Search of Queen Lorrain" or "Geo's Quest 2 - In Search of Queen Lorraine"?

In "GQ2" you can see "Lorrain" on the title screen, but I assume it's like that as you ran out of space:
Same with "GQ3":
Here in "GQ2" though, the main character says "Lorraine":

@pngcan; one little niggle with "GQ3".

These screens are centered vertically:

This screen is too, until the GUI gets added and then it looks like:
Not sure if you could fix that?

Hi friends, its a real task to use Grac2 to change the path, you have to change the path for each picture (100 of them) each Room (100) of them, each object file, each character file, each closeup, each anim, each sound, the control panel, the inventory file, the script files....oy vey....the easy way is just to assign - Work: if you don't have a Work: partition, but if you do just put the GQ2 file in the Work drive and make sure all files that end with .grac2 or .grac are in there for that game.

GQ1 had an intro song in it. GQ1 was my first attempt with Grac2. I just copied the folder and renamed it GQ2 when I started GQ2. It used some of the same pictures and the character files but little else. I did create a few mods for the creaking floor in Gould abandoned house, wind in the scary tree forest for example. I think there are a few more but I can't remember. I was going to record another song for GQ2 but never got to it, so the song file won't load in GQ2. Although you can get to the end of the game, GQ2 is unfinished. Still has bugs to clean up particularly in the castle and with some of the Guards of Bill like the one guarding the castle. Once I finish GQ3 I was going to work on GQ2.

Lorraine or Lorrain? LOL You caught a type-o in GQ2, One of many I expect as it was never completed, proof read, cleaned up etc. The intent of course was Queen Lorraine (Amiga's initial code name)What you see are mistakes. With respect to the screen positioning in GQ3, that is the way Grac2 shows screens as they are separate type of screens. The full screens are the "CloseUp" screens. They are full screens with no control panel or characters or objects etc. Just a screen for anims or close ups of ship controls for example. They cover the whole screen and do not have the control panel. The screens that take the top 2/3rds is the play area. You will notice it is the same area with or without the control panel at the bottom. Grac2 allows to hide the controls so you can have an animation going on with characters objects etc, but no controls so the player doesn't interrupt what is happening. So it hides the controls but the play area remains the same. I don't know why GQ2 positions the game play at the top of the screen, while GQ3 is positioned more towards the middle. I think GQ2 was drawn in NTSC low rez and GQ3 is drawn in PAL low rez, that might be a contributor.

Ok, so the game should be named "Geo's Quest 2 - In Search of Queen Lorraine"

That is what I understand regarding Grac 3. Any idea if this is still a go? The last posts from the authors look like a few years ago. Nothing recent though

Guys, how did you solve "Screen Not Opened" error? I am still encountering that. Downloaded WHDLoad games from links in the 1st post, launching it via Start icon in /data drawer, but still getting that message.
